    It is very nice to see you back. I have an idea for a video. You can demonstrate the difference between a genuine mobile charger which has optocoupler and insulated transformer versus one of those cheap crap counterfeits without proper insulation between live voltage and output. People die or are badly injured because of those crap counterfeit chargers. Most of the videos on KZread in this regards are technical and consumers do not understand them. You are the man to educate ordinary people about the dangers of counterfeit chargers.

I am an amateur photographer and I wanted to run a normal Tungsten bulb on DC as they have possibly HIGHEST CRI Value but the problem with that is they flicker. SO I was wondering if I can run on DC. I hope they work. I am this to my DIY projects. Thank You Mehdi.

    Michael Harvey When you walk across a carpet a touch a door knob and feel a shock that shock can be more than 8000v but that doesn't kill you. If you grabbed hold of a power line running your entire neighbourhood that was 8000v as well as stopping your heart and breathing it would also cook you. Why?

  • @SongwriterTaco

    Coolkeys2009 Ok. however, it would still be more dangerous to get shocked by 120V AC than 7000V taser if the amount of time the current was passing through you was the same? right? because he only touched the taser for a brief moment, and that was still less dangerous than touching 120V AC for a brief moment.

    Michael Harvey I'm not so sure, tasers are designed to be disruptive to the nervous system and can be lethal. There are higher power taser's available used by dubious governments for torture that run off batteries and that can easily kill.

    This might already be answered in the comments. But I'd like to know why all of our home appliances are not DC powered if DC power is so much safer?

  • @maxicx75v

    @maxicx75v

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Saeid Momtahan 1. Because it's hard to make AC from DC if you need it, but it's easy to make DC from AC. 2. Because AC voltage can be easily adjusted with a transformer. Lowering DC voltage requires more complicated circuit, raising it is even harder. 3. Electricity is transferred over long distances and transferring it in very high voltage greatly reduces losses. Combine that with previous point and you have one more reason.

    +Saeid Momtahan See my points 1 and 2

  • @MrOmnos

    @MrOmnos

    +Saeid Momtahan Different appliances require different dc voltages. When you convert dc to dc power loss is higher. If you were to supply your house with 170 volts dc and you need 5 volts for your phone charger, that remaining 165 volts is wasted and is dissipated as heat. This is just too costly and energy hogging. It is far more easier to convert an Ac voltage to lower or higher AC voltages using transformers. The only losses in a transformer is a Iron loss (which is because of the iron core of the transformer and is always constant for a given transformer) and the copper loss (which is because of the copper winding, this depends on the amount of current being drawn). These loses are fairly small and can even be reduced by using better core and winding materials. So, now if you need 5v for your charger you can use a 120-9v transformer and than use a regulator to get 5v output.

    I used to save up all sorts of resistors and capacitors as a child, because my dad said that they would blow up 'like a bomb' if you put them in a light socket, which of course sounded awesome. When I told him, he said it was very dangerous and I should hand them over to him. Instead I plugged in a coat hanger and learned a valuable lesson in how a circuit breaker works!
