HIGH TIDE ALMOST SWEPT AWAY OUR CAMPER: Beach Camping in Port Aransas, TX In A 4x4 Truck Camper

After leaving Oklahoma we set our GPS for Port Aransas, Texas in search of some beach camping before we head north for the summer. What we didn't expect was Spring Break to be in FULL FORCE. Come along as we navigate our way through the wild college students and a very high tide trying to sweep our truck camper away into the ocean.

The best part of the beach is the other side of the State Park. Way less crowded, and once you hit the national seashore dispersed camping is allowed and insanely remote. Highly recommend.

The wife and I couldn't wait to leave Houston when we lived there (work related) we went to the island and hated it, the smells were unbearable! Now we live in our dream state of AZ and love the outdoors out here, overlanding is abundant and it's a different experience every time at only within and hour from home.

Just came across your channel. Great setup you guys have. I had a 2500 with a camper on it, but ended up selling it. Your spring break video brought back memories when I lived in Corpus in the 80’s. If you go down to the National Seashore the road will end into the beach, and you should be able to drive about 60 miles until you get to the Mansfield cut. 4x4’s go down there. Gonna start following your channel. Have a great day.

We didn’t go far enough down to where it was the 4x4 only section, which was a mistake because we got to “enjoy” the festivities of Semana Santa in the section where any vehicle can get out on. Hopefully YT suggested it for you. Thanks for subscribing. Appreciate you taking the time to watch our videos.

@@thecumminscamper That was my entire point. There were plenty of examples of people parking and camping out of harm's way for them to see. They were parked up close to the dunes in parallel parking style. A long line of them doing it right. And many more down at the water line as the tide came in doing it wrong like this guy. The point was they wouldn't have had to move even once had they parked right in the first place. Experienced beach goers know the tides and how they work and plan for it. I was born in Florida and knew this stuff as a kid because we went to the beach often and I just about saw it all as a kid.
