I'm in this video (that's the back of my head). Fun fact: It was filmed in the old (closed) Scala cinema in Kings Cross and was co-directed by Sean and a young up-and-coming director named Edgar Wright. I wonder what happened to him. ; )

Such BRILLIANCE. Why can't music like this be made today?

The banjo in the background reminds me of Cabin Essence by the Beach Boys.

1996 - I discovered these roving Llamas. None of my friends understood it. 10 years later i am soooo proud of being among the first who understood their genius (among my "so-called musical expert friends"). God bless the Llamas. If she exists...

back here in 2022 coz this song really is as brilliant and underrated as the beach boys songs that inspired it. 🙏

I was in a rather small record shop in London, when this track was played over the whole shop. I stood there for an hour listening to most of the album then bought it. Pet Sounds being my all time No 1 album, Hawaii is as close. Thanks for this, Vortexion.

I loved this band/album/song SO very dearly in the 90's/early 00's. Still do. No better way to welcome the Autumn than to revisit this after a long hiatus.

It has that kind of Beach Boys Smile, Wild Honey, Friends era vibe about it & the singer (Sean O'Hagan) sounds just like Al Jardine.

I heard Sean was tapped to work with Brian Wilson at one time. But, never happened. I think on the Brian's side cause he is somewhat sketched out. But could have been REALLY interesting!

One of the THE greatest underappreciated bands of all time. Sean O'Hagan and Co. are pure genius. Goddamn! When I think of the absolute shit music made today, and just pine for more music from the Llamas.
