Underrated band that deserved more attention ❤️

Both are referenced in the music when you go over the chord progressions. Bach during the verses and Tom Ze during the chorus. I love that the lyrics are about neither but are about NASA in the 60s. This song is genius on many levels.

Mary is sorely missed. I can't listen to the HL song Porter Dimi without getting choked up these days

Thanks for posting this. I always thought this was an amazingly beautiful song up there with the best of Lennon-McCartney and Brian Wilson. I mean, if you listen it's Tom Ze-Steely Dan-Stereolab in pop music perfection.

@@evannewman8381 yeah I know. "Cookie Bay" being the most obvious. Just as Sean is on a bunch of the Stereolab albums....I always considered them(Stereolab/High Llamas)like a "family" collaboration.

Just listen to Stereolab. Then Francoise Hardy, the Beatles (pre-1967) and the Beach Boys. Also Tortoise...but they do get into a Minimalsit thing which I love but some don't like.
