Love love love this, Mel and Amanda! The Stronger Hold Ouidad gel is my holy grail, in all weather but especially humidity. My curls last for days with no refreshing.

How’s the fragrance in the stronger hold? Strong? Perfumy?

I've used Ouidad for about 25 years. I went natural when it wasn't a thing and Ouidad was the only products around for curls. So the heat and humidity gel has been reformulated since the original. I now use tres fx gel by Ouidad. Its a strong hold and its still the original formula. They used to have a great deep conditioner but discontinued it last year. Thank you for your in depth review. Love you guys!

I found you last week after I bleached my hair and it was SO dry and I lost nearly all curl. Two days later I had my curls back. Bless you. You wonderful amazing woman.

I’ve never used styling products on my hair, Ever, till joining your channel just 1-1/2 weeks ago. I’m 62, curly hair past shoulder length. The first styling product I recently bought is Ouidad and it changed everything for me 😃🎉 After cleansing and conditioner I use a leave in conditioner and Ouidad mousse, let hair dry half way, then use my defuser. The curls, shine, volume and hold I get is amazing, also Zero frizz. Oh and bc of you, I now keep my filthy hands out of my hair, Huge difference. Girl, Thank you ❤️

Thanks for busting the myth about silicones preventing moisture from getting into the hair! Also I wish there were more Twist products in Canada, I just got the gel and I've never been able to make gel work for me before this

Silicones are the only thing that control my frizz even though they weigh down my curls. I just wish I could find a shampoo good enough to remove the buildup easily

@@darladay4766 I have an oily scalp and use silicones, I like the Neutrogena anti residu shampoo hut I think it’s discontinued :( when I run out I'm going to try the Kristen Ess clairfiee

I've been using the Twist Weather Up gel and styling lotion with good results. I enjoyed seeing how it compares to Ouidad.

That weather up styling lotion is one of my all time fav hair creams! I always prefer lotion consistencies because my fine curls are easily weighed down, & that one does a great job of being moisturizing AND light weight. My hair doesn't dry out as the days go one with that one, whereas stone other lotion style ones will leave my curls dry after a couple of days

Love your hair color, Mell! Looks great! I do also love Twist, specially because it’s not a product that weighs down your hair. You don’t need to worry about using a good amount.

been waiting for this!! also i would love to see you try out more products from the Shea Moisture line! I recently started using their All Day Frizz Control Milky Gel & I'd say its a strong competitor to Ouidad's stronger hold climate control gel! (smells amazing too)

I just used the advanced climate control cream and gel yesterday and my hair likes it so far! We’ll see how it holds up throughout the week

I have coarse high porosity hair. I just got the Ouidad gel, but will definitely consider a pomade now that you've mentioned it.

Mel I have been waiting for forever for you to do a Ouidad comparison. I have used Ouidad ever since the the Devacurl disaster. I have the Ouidad curl shaper line for waves and loose curls. Love this stuff. I also have the blue bottle moisturizing conditioner and leave in conditioner(which smells so good). I use the advanced climate control gel and finish with mongongo oil. I have also bought the black and the white lines from Twist with the red bond strengther. I do like the twist products as well. Price wise, very comparable but I do like the Ouidad more. I will definitely have to try the red gel and the red jar mask. I love the smell of the purple mask😊 I will be buying more products for my collection because of this video. I think I need to build a giant spinning shelf in my bathroom to house all my hair products. 🤣

Oooh Just in time. My curl products of Curlsmith ran out and in a search hunt for another brand. Ouidad is available in Belgium but Twist isn’t. So excited to try it out on my low density thin hair😍 thanks again Mell! But so weird to see a different background and not your home :o

I prefer the Twist line over the Ouidad... I was not impressed with the Advanced Climate Control line by Ouidad at all. I felt like it didn't get my hair clean and the conditioner was meh at best.. My FAVORITE combo is the Twist Reset and the Twist Strengthen the Bond... I just did that my last wash day!

Im late coming in, but Ouidad is the bomb. I've been using this off and on for about 2 years. Recently I've gone back to it, and not leaving, lol

Yeah, the Ouidad's side is definitely looking better. I've been looking for a replacement for my Ouidad gel for some time now because it's not available in my country ... but I guess I'll have to just stick with it.

I had given up on my hair and it was hot mess in a bun most of the time. I was looking at keratin straightening cause I was just done with these curls and came across your channel. Who would have ever ever thought buying brushes and a hair dryer would have given me the best curls ever!! Thank You!! I’ve used quidad for years but found about twist from your channel and been trying it out for a week now. I’m still working on perfecting my methods so the jury is still out between the two but very happy with twist so far. I’m even getting compliments from strangers on my curls. My bad hair days can now be the exception instead of the rule. 😀😀😀

Great video! Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Gel has been my hero product for years. I live in Texas and the humidity in my area is bad. The local weather guy has a "Muggy Meter" and the dew point is over 60 like 8 months out of the year. Ouidad Stronger Hold over the CurlSmith Feather-light Protein Cream has been a great combination for me this year. Stronger Hold leaves my hair feeling dryer than the original, so I use the original on my normal days and Stronger when I need to do my job, which is public speaking and training. It's great when I can't afford for my hair to fail me.

My hair maybe sees an hour of sun a WEEK, if that. I work nights so I wake up after the sun goes down and I get off work right after sunrise. Haha, everyone thinks it's weird but I love it. Anyway, I don't have to worry about UV protection much. Super helpful! I've been curious about how the two lines compare. I tried Ouidad YEARS ago and wasn't very impressed.

That stronger hold gel by ouidad has been my holy grail the past like year
