our rescue Imminent Danger German Shepherd Rescue received a couple of these chairs for dogs we took into the rescue that had Mega E and would likely of been destroyed if we had not taken into rescue, thank God for these Bailey chairs and to be so readily available.

I remember watching a documentary about Bailey, it was so sad and I'm so glad Bailey and his family have been able to help other dogs. ☺

In three weeks my healthy, fun and energetic pit was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy then it moved up to k9 esophagus. So, I will be in the market for a chair and four-runner wheel chair. It's heart wrenching seeing your pal that once was always on the move now lay a down most of the time because of his disease. He doesn't understand why his limbs won't work. It started with an issue with his back leg like he pulled or strained a muscle and within weeks partial paralysis, he can walk, but not without extreme struggle and barely. I have to carry him most of the time because he wears himself out. Then the disease moves up to his throat so he would regurgitate his food and started getting fluid in his lungs. Right now I have to feed him upright and hold him in the position for at least 20 mins to make sure the food goes down to his stomach. I am relieved that there are options for pets with these diseases.

🌸🌷Aww, my heart goes out to animals however, especially dogs. My heart melts for all puppies. I know God is Blessing you and your 💓 heart. That is the sweetest thing a person can ever display. "Twinks & Hugs".

Bailey chairs is amazing

i thought to type initially that dont change the nature of the dog, thought that they are making dog to eat at comfortable position. after watched full video I realized that its for affected by rare disease dogs. good work

They should have a little cushion seat though so a dog can sit down comfortable or so it seems to me but what do I know I just found out this condition existed! It's just that some of the dogs don't look comfortable and some of the big chairs for big dogs and I know their little legs get so tired thank you and God bless you for caring

Only for dogs with this condition if they are healthy and do NOT have MegaE then no your dog shouldnt eat like this, but you can buy raised dog bowl holders if thats what you want it is better but normal healthy dogs do not need to sit up like this and eat.

There are alternative ways to keep the dogs upright but for the most part, if well supported on the back and sides, they can sit in the chair comfortably. I know of a few dogs with 3 legs that use the chair - they use an extra cushion to keep them upright :)

Astor Reinhardt if a dog had bad arthritis or something, one option is to prob them upright on the couch and just try to get them as vertical as possible. The chairs are very padded though so that’s usually not an issue

You will notice your dog regurgitates his food frequently. Bring them to the vet and ask for an xray to confirm

Crystal Lacy usually your dog will come down with aspiration pneumonia or will start to get severely dehydrated or malnourished from no food or water getting down. Vets usually do an x Ray to diagnose the pneumonia and a barium study to diagnose the Megaesophagus. Both dogs in the thumb nail are mine.

This is so cute and I love how the dogs know how to get into the chair. Only thing is, those dogs should be off kibble - all dogs should be - it's total junk.

Connor Mullen for badly bred mill dogs yes, but as medical knowledge increases we are able to find many diseases that had had existed without us knowing about it, these dogs would just been explained as being the "runts" of the litter and probably killed or died before they got to adulthood, now that we know whats wrong we can treat them and they can live happy lives. Its the same in humans, most people like to say "oh everyones getting cancer nowadays" but its mostly just that we are better able to detect it before it ends up killing you.

Owners are encouraged to spay/neuter any dog with ME. For some dogs, like mine, they acquire ME as adults. My dog was 4 when he developed it due to an autoimmune disease. It is not genetic.

This isn’t like some people teaching their cats to use a toilet, these “chairs” aren’t even for most dogs, they’re for the ones whose throat muscles literally do not work properly. So it’s either the dogs eat like this or they get food in their lungs.
