1km off Ruby bay an hour before the sunrises if you don't mind getting out of bed at 3.30am. Put your self in that zone using burly and right now you have a good chance of taking snapper. Otherwise the evening as the sun goes down. Good luck

When I was twelve years old, my father got me this boat and I went fishing off of Cape Cod. And I hooked a scup. And as I was reeling it in, I hooked a four and a half-foot baby thresher shark who proceeded to eat my boat. He ate my oar, hooks, my seat cushions, he turned an inboard into an outboard. Scared me to death. And I swam back to shore. And when I was on the beach, I turned around and I actually saw my boat being taken apart. And ever since then, why yes, I have been studying sharks. I plan to go to the Institute tomorrow and tell them that you still have a shark problem here.

It's good you have no adverse effects. I find they leave me feeling flat. I do have too much adrenaline but I live for the buzz so just don't take them.

Amazing fish ah Clay. How about those colors when it first comes out of the water, iridescent purple etc. I have caught two and even tho they are supposed to be good eating. I have done the same as you. Released them both, far too awesome to eat 🙁

hey clay i asked on the last vid you showed this shark in but could i please post a photo to inaturalist (a citizen science website) on your behalf. (crediting you of course) As this record could be really useful for scientific purposes. currently they're aren't many records of thresher sharks in the nelson or even upper south island.
