Harvesting Wild Pork in Beautiful New Zealand Wilderness with 2 Dogs & Knife
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Join my main hunting dog, Pace, and our new pup, John, and me as we embark on an exhilarating adventure deep in the backcountry of the South Island, New Zealand. Today, we’re on the hunt for a wild pig-a species introduced to these shores that has no natural predators. This makes our pursuit not only a thrilling food-gathering exercise but also crucial for preserving our native biodiversity.
I will be dispatching the pig and field-dressing it with just a small Baco knife as shooting the pig can result in giving the dog muzzle blast or even causing it injury only carrying a rifle for backup. Our goal is to harvest every bit of organic meat, leaving behind only the spine, skin, and head. This intense journey will span 14 hours, covering 16.8 km of untamed wilderness from the moment we leave the truck until we return.
Feel the adrenaline rush as we navigate rugged terrains, relying on the keen senses of Pace and the growing instincts of John. Experience the raw beauty of New Zealand’s wild landscapes and the primal excitement of the hunt. This isn’t just a hunt; it’s a mission to protect our environment and a testament to the bond between hunter and hound. Don’t miss out on this epic backcountry adventure!

This video was taken down by KZread for 12 hours. I lost the appeal but then after doing their community guidelines training program I was allowed to re-appeal. Thankfully I won the second appeal they have reinstated the video and removed my warning based on this being an educational video. They have re monetized it. Thank you for all your hearty comments.

na, it was just their A.I picking it up and then some human at YT decided it was outside of their community guidelines. As it turned out I had deleted all the blood, killing, and guts and kept this one within their snowflake guidelines.
Good to see your well there mate! Been a while for us KZread fans 👍🏼

Well done mate, we've got great outdoors here and plenty to hunt/fish. I'm 74 now and recently had heart surgery so not as active as I used to be; your video made me realise what I am missing.

I had end-stage heart disease two years ago. I made some serious lifestyle changes and have my health back. I can relate. I had crippling angina and needed a stent. I halted all that and have reversed it with diet, rest, exercise, sleep, and pain management. Diet has been the biggest. Good luck mate.

@@ClayTallStories Thanks for your words of support - much appreciated. I had a quadruple by-pass and all was going well until I decided that I was "better" and started doing more serious exercising - walking my dog at a fast rate around 12 km a day etc. But that only got me heart failure and my heart apparently expanded to almost twice its normal size. I'm taking it a bit quieter now, resting more but I have always had a very healthy diet and was physically fit. I'm hitting natural supplements to support the heart. I hope to get back out in the hills - been hunting since I was 9.
Had been watching home steading and gardening content of yours earlier today so it's good to see you and pace still get out on the hill doing what yous love cheers mate
What a classic hunt and video. Pure magic.
Great hunt and beautiful bush. I have to visit NZ one day soon.
Thank You Sir 😊
nice stuff Clay, I miss the South Island. Whilst those cheap knives are cheap, a good custom knife carries the memories of the hunt with you, yell out if you need one mate.

Great to hear from you Shelley. Its good to hear you are still making knives. Anything superlight is always a blessing to hunt with and thats why I carry the baco. Thats a kind offer. You have made a couple of knives for me in the past. I still have a utility knife and a cool orange neck knife for my daughter Dayla.
Absolutely love your page, and it's awesome to see another hunt. Much respect clay
This really inspires me to try to these thing atleast once in my life, thanks clay!

Exemplary content, bit of a shame that KZread tries to prohibit real coverage of life and nature, but it’s really all the more reason to support Clay directly and get access to that. Cheers
