There are so many hidden things in this song - one element you didn't mention is that the core tuning of the song goes up half a semitone or so throughout. Listen to the guitar at the very end then immediately listen to the guitar right at the start. You'll immediately hear it - yet you don't notice it change throughout the song. Magical.

I am so glad you guys have chosen Hideaway rather than his grammy winners for review. I think Hideaway, and other original songs of his own, best capture the intricacy and beauty of JC's musical universe. And you gave his masterpiece an expert analysis it deserves.

Great reaction! Would love to see more Jacob Collier reactions. Flintstones, Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing, All Night Long, and Moon River are good places to start. For anyone relatively new to Jacob Collier, the BBC recently aired a documentary called "Jacob Collier: In the Room Where it Happens". It's a great introduction to Jacob and his music career so far. As shown in the documentary, people like Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones were BLOWN AWAY the first time they saw some of Jacob's KZread videos. Quincy immediately told his people to stop whatever they were doing and find that guy! kzread.info/dash/bejne/d4aqxpeKmtjWg7g.html

Most reactors start with his 'set piece' Grammy winners, so it is wonderful to find reactors starting out by digging deeper. Yes! "I feel like I just grew as a person". The harmonies, rhythms and melodies engage my whole brain. Hideaway is glorious. My joyful tears have goose bumps 😂 To be fair, his Grammy winners and nominations are wonderful too. Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful 2023. ☮ For non-Grammy winners and non-Grammy nominations, maybe try: _Jacob Collier & Tori Kelly - Running Outta Love_ kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yqxs1rmDqKrUoso.html Non-Grammy arrangements of covers: _Jacob Collier - Here Comes The Sun (feat. dodie)_ _Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing - Jacob Collier_ kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqp_t9atidabn9o.html he was a teenager Or his series of harmonisations #IHarmU, For example, the first two: _Jacob Collier's __#IHarmU__ Vol. 2_ kzread.info/dash/bejne/oK58qJRrZczIkc4.html I adore Soléy May, 3rd piece _Jacob Collier's __#IHarmU__ Vol. 1_ kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYFm0MqFg8iwiMo.html Patreons sent a very short clip of them singing or performing, and he harmonises around them. These are solos, the originals were collaborations. Each part is one continuous take, of about 16minutes. It's more than 99% likely he made the video himself. He's usually very careful about giving credit, and that video has no credit for anyone but Jacob. *I have no relationship with Jacob Collier, his management company, their channels, record companies, etc. whatsoever. I just like to help folks discover his music and talent.*

Hey TheREZMobile - you are EPIC thanks so much for checking out our channel we really appreciate it and hope you can join us in the chat during our livestream sometime (we have a big show coming up this wednesday but we do it around onceish a week). You are exactly right we are trying to do the very best job we can to manage this huge amount of content that we have. For example we've recorded 78 shows so far, and at about 7 songs a show thats 546 'songs' that we already have in the bag. There are 365 days a year so if we release only one video on our channel a day, we already have more than a years worth of content. We are working hard on a patreon that will have every unedited full video recordings of previous episode available on demand. It just takes alot of time and we both have full time jobs but its getting easier because we are past the huge frontload of work (literally learning how to stream and building a studio and starting the show) and now that we figured that out we can put more efforts into the show. Cheers
