That fun "burnt" flavor you were picking up in the fallen coconut is an agricultural oaxacan rum! With cane grown and fermented at a high elevation you get a funky, grassy note that comes off like mesquite wood, but I understand it's not for everyone ;) hope you and everyone that sees this can come visit us soon!

I'll have to check it out when I go visit my son in Tampa in a couple of weeks, my favorite tiki bar in Florida so far is The Honu in Dunedin even John Mulder who I always go visit, says it's a cool place. Looking forward to checking it out.

Unfortunately, we were only able to go here and to Trader Sams. I gotta say that I was less than impressed with Trader Sam's.

@@BreezewayCocktailHour I think Trader Sam’s is ok, drinks are decent if not great. But the gimmicky, silliness of it is what I envisioned ruined Tiki bars in the 80’s. Interesting when you read the Bum’s Sippin’ Safari, and he talks about how Tiki restaurants/bars started to lose their luster in the early 70’s. Disney’s Polynesian Hotel was already planned and opened in 1971. With a little Disney magic, it has been uber successful all these years. People that go to Trader Sam’s are *mostly* not hard core Tiki people, cocktail people, or rum people- but they are Disney people, and they eat that stuff up. So much so they will wait in line for hours…. Me? I’d take a Uber to Permanent Vacation, Aku Aku, Suffering Bastard, The Courtesy, etc etc etc.
