Hidden Meanings Behind the "Hidden Figures" Movie (Spoilers)

Ойын-сауық

Selected by “Conscious Movie Reviews,” “Hidden Figures” is a historical drama about Black women in the NASA space program. Called "Computers with Skirts," mathematicians Katherine Johnson, Mary Johnson, and Dorothy Vaughan were hired at NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia during the space race between the U.S. and Russia that's currently being waged by billionaires. Even though they experienced racism (from Jim Crow Laws) and sexism in the workplace, these three African American women achieved professional milestones at NASA by contributing their talents to make the manned missions, like the sub-orbital and orbital flights, into space a reality.

I hope to buy an uncut version of this movie along with a few others. I often wonder when the real awakening of the people on our planet will begin. TPTB spend billions of dollars searching for life on other planets and trillions of dollars killing life on this one. Looking back down on earth, astronauts must feel overwhelming sorrow over the damage of our planet, that according to them, can be seen from space. Thank you for this wonderful review!

Apollo 8, 9, & 10 all when round the moon. 9 & 10 tested the lunar module with two crew separated from the capsule whilst circling the moon. 13 was a near disaster which was made into a film. The only way they could get it back was to allow it to go around the moon and sling shot it back to earth. I was born in 1950 from England l remember all these fantastic events in human history both by Russian and American. It is regrettable than so much of our history has been achieved by women’s intellect, but then hidden by men.

As I recall Apollo 13 circled the Moon and came back without landing? It was Apollo 11 & 12 that landed.

@@ZEZERBING Apollo 9 did 'go around', but not the moon. It was a test of the lunar lander in earth orbit. Apollo 10 did the test flight around the moon.

Ok, as soon as you said reverse engineering alien tech, or whatever it was, TOTAL LACK OF CREDIBILITY.

Robert Morris: You can believe what you like as well. We have a radio show and interviewed Jessie Marcel Jr. from Roswell, New Mexico as he described the remnants his father brought home from the crash as unusual in their properties. He was just a kid going through the stuff. There's even blueprints of anti-gravity spacecraft by the Germans during World War 2 as proof. I'm not surprised by it. It's okay if you don't believe what I had mentioned in the review. Many would find the information too incredible that it can't be true. Even as many of this is being declassified by the government, the general consensus is that it must be a hoax. That's the funny part. Many want it declassified, which they've been doing gradually, but now they don't care to see them in the government libraries.

@@consciousmoviereviews9730 There is no such thing as aliens. Not any that have actually been here, anyway. But I guess it's possible, if they know what I would do if I saw them. I'd knock them in the head and take their ship. It would be easy, since they're all big heads and eyes and skinny little arms and legs. 1:23 pretty good photoshop though.

I'm seeing this video today(2-16-20) for the first time. I am 65, and loved this film so much that I've watched it at least 10 times, so far. Some statements you've made don't sound right, now 58 years later. I'm white, straight, patriotic, not racist, but try to always be open minded. You're saying that the movie was partially fictionalized. Why?

William Sharp: Thank you for your message. Yes, it's true that Hollywood "enhanced" the movie for their purposes. The biggest truth is that the main character, Katherine G. Johnson, stated in a past interview that she did not really experience racism at NASA, like it was depicted in the film. So, if you look into the real history, you'll find more historical truths that contradict what you saw in the movie.
