the AI in 2001 isn't evil either. A robot has no morals. It just followed what it was programmed to do... It just so happened that the only way it could do so is by killing it's crew.

Why can't it be both? Maybe it was programmed to be evil. Anyway you are definitely not familiar with how AIs are often made, using "deep learning" methods, they aren't programmed explicitly, they just develop algorithms rather organically, and so it can essentially develop a "personality" all on its own. This is why putting a deep learning AI in a position of power or else the plot of terminator 2 actually will likely happen.

You missed the fact that WALL*E is the last SURVIVING trash robot out of an army of such robots! The dead robots are part of the scenery, as well as being implied by all the empty shelf slots in WALL*E's home which, you'll remember, was one of 3 vehicles on the highway. One of the themes you missed is the lesson of humanity's shortsightedness. An army of trash compactor robots is left to "clean up" a mess without any plan of how to ELIMINATE it, resulting in towers of compacted garbage, hardly an improvement. Meanwhile, onboard the Axiom, the same philosophy persists, except that they are polluting space. Also, EVE wasn't the only probe bot on Earth, as evidenced by the other EVEs on the recovery ship, which were then scanned by the robot purser.

You're also missing that the wall-e the viewer sees may not by any means be the last one, the viewer just sees things from its perspective and it hasn't run into any others but with 200 million square miles of Earth there certainly could BE others, a lot of them, with them sparse enough that it hasn't run into any of them. So this potentially drastically increases the odds that AN eve would meet A wall-e, the viewer just sees the story of the two that happened to meet.

I'm surprised you haven't done District 9 yet. One of the best films ever...In my opinion.

Wall-E would have been my number 1 animated movie if they kept the silent movie style the entire time. Keeping humans as a mysterious entity we never see outside of adverts and pictures would have been great.

I mean, its practically a movie as it is. There's very little gameplay and the only reason it is in game form is because without it, it would be cut short to at least two hours and would lead the player less to figure out.

Jonathan Bloomfield No, because they don't eat it. They have to eat the forbidden fruit to be rejected from paradise. Eve is the apple, because when they kiss in robot style, (Eve is both Eve and the apple from the OldT) they get send back to earth.
