hi, good video. just a heads up, those are parking lights. BMW is a German brand and their lights work according to the EU law, that's why the lights are named E90, that's their license number. when your car is parked, you're legally obligated to turn on your parking lights outside of the city here in Germany. turning your blinker after turning the car off indicates the direction of which your car is parking :)

i’ve known this since i was a kid but just never tried it because i’m scared the battery will die or something. does it affect anything ?

@@SaifDrivesparking outside of the city is meant to be for short stops, like 3-15 minutes, it can easily survive that long without any issues. however any longer might not be the best especially if the car isn't used :)

Yeah no. The car model is a E90, irrelevant if the lights. And you DO NOT turn a car off and leave on ANY lights. You WILL come back to a dead battery if over 30 minutes, less if your battery is going bad. And your battery lifespan will be drastically shorter even doing it for 10+ minutes regularly. Absolute nonsense. Coming from an automotive design engineer.

So I own a 2006 330xi 6 speed e90, I live in New York, and I do this all the time - you can either chose the left or right drl to stay on or you pull the highbeam back and it will turn on your headlights and drl’s, it will only stay on for as long as you set it in the menu in the cluster- so I set mine for 150 seconds - it comes in handy when I go on vacation to Pennsylvania and it’s dark, I turn those on and I can see as I get stuff from my trunk and leave the car and lock it and it’ll turn off after that set time - I’ve had the car for 3 months now and never had an issue with the battery dying or anything, I love the feature tbh
