I don't care what people say. Hi-Point knocked it clear out of the park with this gun. I mean come on. A 10 mm that is reliable, accurate, and durable for around 200 dollars brand new with an outstanding warranty and is made right here in the good old USA. Outstanding job Hi-Point.

I ain't ashamed to admit that I've had a couple Hi Points. I had a 40 cal for years and it was honestly one of the most accurate pistols I've shot, and I've shot a lot. I polished the feed ramp and it ran just fine. Actually it still is because my brother owns it now and when we go to the range he brings it too and we shoot the hell out of it. Ain't nothin wrong with an old Hi Point.

Our firearms are 100% American made and we guarantee a lifetime replacement of our work. This means you can get the most gun for your dollar, the pride of supporting an American based company, and a lifetime warranty on all of our firearms. I, too, had the same experience (well, basically) when I fired the 10mm HiPoint for the 1st time, but with two exceptions: I was using four different weights of 10mm ammunition (from 135 to 200gr) and didn't experience that one "failure"(?) to hold open after the 1st magazine. No FTC, FTF, FTE, etc.. No failures at all. Accuracy at 25' was better than your 1st magazine. Exceeded my expectations in all aspects: HiPoint has a(nother?) real winner here! P.S. The metal HiPoint red dot mount fit perfectly and uses three hex head screws: perhaps the most solid mount in the industry and at $20 a true bargain.

Excellent well done test presentation! Yes I think Hi Point made a smart decision to come out with a 10mm caliber pistol. This looks very promissing for those who want to leave a pistol as a Personal Safety Defensive Device in a Cabin or Boat not wanting to invest half or grand or more. I would just recommend for, Hi Point to add a, Lanyard Loop, feature for weapon retention.

I'm not worried about its power in taking a deer/hog, b/c if its good enough on big bears up in Alaska, it'll definitely be more than enough at close range on anything here in Louisiana. However there have been cases of numerous failures with high points that were not ammunition related. Not only do I not want something cheap making small explosions near my face, I don't want to have to ever wonder if my weapon is going to go bang when I need it to go bang. After seeing rangehot with the quick first look, I thought you might be the first to review it. Well done and it did not disappoint. I like the slide changes and the new grip panels as well. I appreciate all the non biased love you have given Hi-point through the years. Hi-Point knows their product will be many people's first defensive tool and will NOT be most people's final or only defensive tool purchase. (unless they already have everything else they want) However, you can rest assured that if you do your due diligence as a respectful responsible gun owner, it will serve you well while you save up for whatever else you desire. I will always have at least a couple "useful IS as useful DOES" Hi-points in my collection. The carbines are the gems of their line-up, and at their respective working distances there is nothing in the safe more capable more accurate or more fun. Also, the one ammo long gun handgun combination of tools philosophy is an historically proven practical success. Cheers

@Nathan Strickland I agree that the Taurus G series would be a much better option if not for the quality of manufacture alone, but also from the standpoint that it is 100x more carry friendly for only about 75 bucks more out the door for a G3C and maybe 30 bucks more for a G2C. Granted you are not going to get a G2 or G3 in 10mm but then again there has only recently been a couple companies that have embarked on making a compact modern 10mm pistol that isn't heavy and hard to conceal. For the longest time 10mm had been a niche round and only a few companies even made a metal framed 1911 styled pistol chambered in it. I credit the innovations in recoil management like dual captive recoil springs, frame ergonomics, and advancements in grip texture to a resurgence or resurrection in interest for 10mm. I also credit advancement in manufacturing techniques that provide greater durability and frame strength to the mix as well. My first experience with 10mm was in the late 80s; my buddy's dad had a Bren 10 and he had Cooper's original recipe Norma ammo. Let's just say that while it was the pinnacle of shooting experiences it was equally as painful as it was exhilarating. He bought a S&W model 1006 in 1992 and it was equally as much of a handful. I would dare say that it was easier and more pleasant to shoot a DE-50 than the early models of 10mm. By the way his 1006 suffered a cracked frame after 1100 rounds through it. I was the unfortunate one to be wielding it when it happened. Thankfully, I noticed it right away and it did not end in a catastrophic manner or anything, but yeah things to consider when contemplating a 10mm firearm. The funny thing is I truly believe that the modern polymer 10mm offerings might hold up better simply because they have a less rigid frame design that allows for a great deal of the recoil to be absorbed through flexibility. Could be wrong but having shot the new XDM 10mm, Glock 10mm, and the new M&P 10mm compact they do not seem to transfer recoil nearly as bad as either the Bren or 1006.

@@killacoiler1707 100% agree with you sir. My absolute two favorite 10mm that I own. Are my glock 20, It's always on my side. When I'm hunting, camping and hiking in the woods. Having 15 rounds of 10mm on your side is a force to be reckoned with. One of my favorite concealed carry 10mm. Is my range officer elite. It's a tank and built for the heaviest 10mm rounds you can find.

I was thinking of doing Glock 21 to 20 conversion but not now! For the price and reliability (already have the 45&40 hi-points) and also Washington states B.S. mag capacity law it’s a no brainer for me, don’t want to invest too much in a just for fun pistol and extra magazines are budget friendly compared to extra Glock magazines (not a knock against Glock) it will make a great addition to my collection and thanks for a great video

Excellent review. Since its introduction, I have seen more anti-Hi Point critics embrace their offerings in 10mm than any other firearm in their inventory-not just retailers but professionals as well. I've also seen more 'tricked out' Hi-Point 10mm pistols than any other of their weapons. I've owned two 995s, and other than the weight and the frustrating disassembly, I have had no problems with feeding or accuracy. Yes, ammo capacity is an issue for many, but I'm not picky. Hi-Point's firearms are ugly, reliable, and heavy pieces of solid craftsmanship. Based on your video, I've decided to get a pistol instead of a carbine. I don't need any more pistol carbines or long guns in general. I've been a .40S&W kid for three decades and want to upgrade from my .357 wheel gun. I didn't want to pay an arm and leg for a high-end 10mm pistol, so I screened all of the offerings. Thank you for your review. Bravo, Sir.

Definitely going to be one of my next firearm to start looking for Hi-point 10mm pistol and carbine and a 380 carbine and a s&w M&P 2.0 10 mm , own various other firearms and have plenty of experience from being in the military and law enforcement, and from people who have owned Hi-point and they have great service from their pistols, and carbines, would like to see hi-point make a 32 acp carbine and pistol ,and a 327 magnum 🤔just saying since they make a 10mm and a 380…

I have a tough enough time EDCing my 24oz PDP 4"... I'd definitely only use a 36 oz 5" as a cabin gun. I guess, because I come from a CCW p.o.v. I've always been willing to spend the money on something lighter, smaller, than any Hi-Point I have ever seen. CF380- 3.5", 29oz, 8rd gun - $150 Bersa Thunder- 3.5", 20oz 8rd- $260 Thunder Plus- 3.5, 21oz 15rd- $330 Im 42 been on a fixed income for 12 yrs, I understand low income struggles...I would pick either Bersa over the CF380. any gun in you pocket is better than the biggest caliber gun left at home.
