Never owned a hi-point, but I remember reading a review a long time ago that kinda summed it up by saying that with modern machining technology, there’s really no reason why a cheaply produced gun should fail. And I’ve seen all sorts of torture test videos since then, and none of them suggest that a hi-point won’t go bang when you tell it to. I know it’s nobody’s ideal weapon of choice, but it beats the hell out of throwing rocks.

My favorite scene was the slow motion shooting on the cabbage. The reason I like it is because this gun is designed based on a blow back action utilizing the slide weight to keep the breech closed until the bullet leaves the barrel to avoid gases blowing backward.. And the slow motion shooting scenes show the cabbage damage before the slide starting to move backward, so Hi point have mastered the blow back design for the 10 mm - kudos to hi point.

Just to nitpick, it’s not really to “prevent the gasses blowing backward” It’s to delay opening until gas pressure is low enough to not blow the case head off. 9mm peak chamber pressure is pushing the case head backwards with about 2 metric tons of force. Which is equivalent to the tensile strength of 0.5 square inches of solid brass

Thank you for another 11 minutes of fun. I always wanted to try 10mm, so I bought a JXP-10. At 49 ounces, it is heavy enough to make the recoil not too horrible.

You should get the Magnum Research new 10 mm 1911. Was made by Bul Armory in Israel. Best 10 mm ever built. I'm very happy with mine. Awesome gun.
I carry a Hi Point .45 ACP in my vehicle. Big, bulky, but reliable. And when I run out of ammo, I can still beat someone senseless with the slide!😂
Hi-point is so legendary it's immune to KZread channel strikes.
Damnit Scott you’re the only human I’d ever let convince me to buy a flipping 10mm high point but you done twisted my arm

ive shot the 45 and 9mm and 380. the 45 was flawless. the 9mm was old and used but coule USUALLY get through a mag without an issue. the 380...... i dont think it had enough umph .. and would jam a lot...... so 10mm i expect would be pretty damn good considering frame is same as a 45. and that never gave me issue. hes tempted me too.

I love this show . Thank you ! Every one else gives us numbers and the law and other stuff . You are different , you give us technique and confidence . You have two rifles that have caught my attention . The Four Bore of course but the King of .500 magnum has turned us on to that lever action .500 magnum rifle !
This is great, man! Awesome presentation of science in motion!
This might be the coolest gun video ever. that's why I love hi points they are built for fun!
Every time I see these Hi-Point videos, I'm actually impressed 90% of the time. I think its reputation may be a BIT undeserved.

We’ll they have put a lot more research to fix the problem. I say they should go after a little more expensive market and actually make something that can compete with other budget brands like CANIK and Taurus

About 98% of all complaints of hi points comes from the magazines, which for whatever reason the company has been slow to improve...the straight blowback design is inherently simple and reliable, although heavy...we have a new 995 that we are already liking, after years of debating whether to buy a hi point or not...now i'm ordering a couple extra magazines, so I guess we'll keep it...

You bet. Think as Hi-Point like the flat screen that is still bulky and blocky sold today. It'll definitely work for people who need one, no questions asked

Nah, they are ugly, bad capacity, way too heavy & made out of crap materials. I don't think they deny that & they aren't really trying to cater to us gun guys. What they do succeed in is being reasonably reliable. If you aren't into guns but want something for home defense, Hi-Point is vastly better than nothing.

@@TheeabdielCanik and Taurus should no longer be put in the same category. Canik guns are now in the $500-$700. They are just as well put together as Glocks and Sigs. Hi-Points issues mostly stem from their crappy magazines.
Man, it's so satisfying to see that bullet flying through the lovely Kentucky air in slow motion. Yeeeeet! It looks like you're living your best life fo sho!
Both calibers will work well as long as the right projectiles are used. The 230 grain fmj will do better in many applications than people think.
Suprisingly, all the video I saw from Hi-Point, they are pretty reliable, and undestructible.
That slow mo! Edit: Quite impressive how accurate you are with both left and right hand shooting
Thanks for the video I often wondered which had more power and did more damage ! God Bless You And Family
I got the 40 and the 45. Never had an issue with either one of them. Very accurate too. I got the 9mm carbine also, it shoots great!

I must say that thus Hi Point is a vast improvement over the older models as far as presentation. It still won't win the beauty contest...but I personally think it's not that bad! As a matter of fact I may even consider one chambered in 10mm.
Thanks Brother, always a joy to have some fun watching the shows. 😂😂👍👍🇺🇲
Thanks for doing HiPoint. I have one in 380 auto, and it performs great. Nice to see a positive review.

It's great to see you're finally testing a quality weapon!!!
Great video. I was just thinking, larger calibers like 10mm and 45 make more sense in a gun like a Hi-Point, which is huge to begin with.
Had to subscribe halfway through the video. Talk about entertaining and informative😂😂😂!!! I'm impressed with the 40cal Hi-Point
I bought a Highpoint 45 ACP from a friend at a very good deal. Brought it to the range and put it through some Hell and she did not jam not even once. I think it’s the big and bulky that people don’t like about it but it works. Far as distance it wasn’t bad but for a affordable home defense weapon, you can’t go wrong with one at all.
And here you have it folks! Hi Points are good reliable firearms. I have the 380 and it is a straight shooter with no problems what do ever 🤠
Scott your joyful exuberance and zest for life makes me happy. 😅 Really enjoying your channel thank you sir.
You can't deny the science. Hi Point looks like fun.... Cheap Fun, the best kind!
I like how on the slow-mo you can see just how heavily the slide rockets backwards. Hi-points may not be light as a feather, but damn if that weight doesn't make them reliable.
I’ve owned two hi points over the years and both of them ran flawlessly 🤷🏼
Well that was probably the best Demo video I've seen in a really long time.. 🤣😂🤣😂 You're a mad man with skills.. 👍 But really, i appreciate you sharing this information and exposing the 10 mm HP.. 👍
This showed some real goid tests. Thank you.
Scott has displayed perfect Gyroscopic table mechanics in this vid
I swear hi point is growing on me....they might be top end heavy like a van but damnit man they're reliable for the price.and that new 10mm after the redesign really don't look half bad.i see they're selling for $219 so I'll prolly have to go pick one up

The high point is beggging to be converted into a 10mm mac 10 I need to learn how to print lol
This is a helpful video, as I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a 10mm hi-point semiautomatic. My 9mm’s are Glocks and a Canik. Limited resources may direct me to saving up for a Glock, but that hi-point is tempting. Your adolescent exuberance makes this such an entertaining video to watch - not goofy or artificially hyperactive, but genuine enjoyment with what you’re doing. Thank you for the experience. Blessings, Grace and Peace 😊
Really appreciate your humor ; I could hardly stop laughing. Yea it was the highpoint! LOL
Scott as usual I was not disappointed you brought the laughter and entertainment once again and maybe these gun haters will see that with proper training and respect for the weapon can be a lot of fun thanks again keep up the great job you do.
The unadulterated throwing and flawlessly impacting things had me SCREAM laughing. Love the content brother, keep it up!!
Love this video, I have a S&W 10 mil, didn't know it was better than a 45.... Thanks Scott!
I really like watching your videos! I would become a patron but being retired and on a fixed income, I can’t afford to. Please keep the videos coming and I promise to keep watching and liking them! Great information and entertainment!
Thanks for your unbiased opinion on Hi Points. Educational and entertaining. Good work
I bought a Hi-Point second hand that had a defect from the factory. Hi-Point sent me a new pistol. Other than finding the right person to talk to, their customer service was pretty good.
Looked like its barrel was threaded, would love to see a suppressor on it. Another awesome video.
I see the Hi-Point continues to evolve, very promising

Let’s see a combo next with the 10mm pistol AND carbine. They take the same mags so being able to switch between the two in a zombie situation would be interesting. Believe it or not, this sold me on hi point. Just bought a .45 and probably gonna get this 10mil next.
I swear, the amount of fun you have at your job is astounding lol Honestly im a bit jellious
My first handgun was a c9. Not knowing the lore behind them 😂 hands down one of the best long distance handguns I’ve ever shot. Too heavy to have significant recoil 😂
I gotta say, this new JXP looks pretty badass for a hi-point. They're stepping their game up for sure! Looks like you can snag one for around $200 too, for that price its almost like you'd HAVE to buy one
