Just got my Tisas Carry B9R DS. I've owned over 50 guns including over 20 1911 with half of them being $1000+. I have also owned a basic Tisas 1911.This Tisas "2011" has blown my mind! The build quality doesn't deserve to be this good on a gun that costs only $750. This will probably win gun of the year award. The quality of machining is on par with my Wilson Combat and Ed Brown. Every part except for the guide rod is machined and NOT MIM. You need to spend close to $2000 to get a gun of this kind of quality. It's crazy! You REALLY need to look hard to find things to not like about it. I'm so impressed by this that I''ll probably end up buying their whole lineup. I've also owned a Para 2011 from when it first came out. This Tisas makes the Para look like it was machined from the stone age.

@@jdub_1911not all at once of course. I’ve had some that I sold and have a goal to own all of those “regret selling” ones. This Tisas DS is instantly a favorite. Up there with my Cz 75 Sp-01 Tactical.

Looks very solid. I am looking forward to some folks getting some 500 - 1,000 + round count reviews documented for reliability. If the durability/reliability is there, that is beyond an amazing deal.

They’re no cast no MIM, that’s about as reliable as it gets in terms of materials for a 1911

I ran mine for the first time with a holosun 407K. The screws provided the 407K are a little too long. The screw on the right will go so far in that it will make contact with the ejector causing malfunctions. I had 6 failures to feed and eject out of 200 rounds that day. I removed the Red Dot and fired 10 more rounds and had no problems. A few days later I shot 3010 rounds with no problems what so ever. I have replaced the 407K with shorter screw on the extractor side. I’m waiting for the Screw Glue to set before I shoot it again. Fingers crossed.

Haven't handled either but own both brands. Tisas for life, never had issues. Carry a Tisas even. If I get an opportunity to handle both, I am sure I would pick the Tisas.

I am supposed to be bias with RIA since I was born and raised out in the Philippines and I own a double stack RIA 1911 in 45ACP and love it. However, Tisas build quality is outstanding and much more innovations from the Turkish made as well. Now, I started with the PX9-3 as a back up for my Sig226 since it uses the same magazines and fell in love with it that I bought another one. Then, I bought the Nightstalker in 45 and 9mm and Man they shoot really well like my Sig Scorpion. Lastly I just recently picked up the MAC DS9 and really love the looks and out of the box reliability. In short, I will always go for Tisas over a Rock Island Armory...

I believe so, took mine apart for inspection and trigger tuning. If there was any MIM I did not see it. All the parts appeared to be standard series 70 parts. Two lengthy range sessions no malfunctions of any kind noted.
