Grace Kossia, Ed.M.’17, always wanted to be a teacher.
She realized the impact and investment of teachers throughout her own education as a refuge and wanted to pay it forward in her “life’s work.” She came to the HGSE to develop her teaching skills and better understand the challenges facing education.
After teaching for five years, Kossia joined Almost Fun, a non-profit organization based in New York City, whose mission is to help marginalized students find joy and confidence in their math learning. As Chief Academic Officer, Kossia relies on what she’s learned at HGSE every day, especially how the power of storytelling can be a tool in developing curriculum.
