I've worn contacts for over 30 years. A good decision for me but not for everyone. At night I take them out to clean them and put on my glasses. Once in a while I wear my glasses during the day and definitely when traveling internationally, I wear my glasses on the long plane ride and take the contacts with me. You can have the best of both worlds. So nice to have fresh garden vegetables. Congratulations!

I do have a doctors appointment when I come home I’m gonna start my chicken and all the ingredients in the crockpot formula L is very expensive for me living in Chicago we don’t have the option of buying it at the store it’s ridiculous. That could be an overgrown cucumber, they are pretty bitter. My sister in law had some that looked liked that and that’s what they were.

The mystery vegetable is a yellow zucchini. Perhaps a seed from that variety got in the green zucchini packet. Flavor is the same, but adds a different color to your roasted vegetable mix.

Chicken and biscuits looks so delicious!! I use Splenda too. And that thing you got out of your garden looks like a ZUCUMBER. 😂😂

I just had an eye appointment. I also wanted contacts but I have a little bit of dry eyes in order to wear contacts I’d have to put drops in my eyes 3 times a day. If you don’t do the drops and my eyes were to dry out well my contacts would pop out. 😮 so I went with progressive lenses with a no glare lense . They will also transition to sunglasses 🕶 when I’m out doors 😊

I wore contacts from 16 until 28. I can see better in them, but they do dry out my eyes which are naturally watery normally. I'm not good at cleaning them so I got the kind you change daily. Back then it was $350 per eye as they are different prescriptions. They are likely more expensive now. I got my glasses for $70 and change even though I was surcharged for my severe prescription, paid extra to thin the lenses (thick distorts the vision), and added blue blocking.

Have you tried this you take equal amounts of soft butter and a.p. Flour and mix together till the floor is coated in butter and drop by spoonfuls it won't clump up and will thicken whatever you make

Hi Leslie! I started wearing contacts when I was 64 years old! I’m 66 now and live them. Yes, they’re not as crisp but good for gardening. I look much better without glasses. Many blessings from this Grandmother with 18 grands and more to come!

The veggie is a Mexican squash, very similar to zucchini, called Calabacita.

Hi grade my zucchini and put it in Ziploc bags in the freezer so all I have to do is take it out and use it for zucchini bread or just whatever I want. Makes it quick.

Shred your zucchini and freeze it to make zucchini bread this winter. Also make squash cakes with the squash. Grandma always boiled them until tender, chopped them, add fresh onion one tbsp of SR flour, and an egg. Fry them mixture in hot oil like salmon Pattie shapes and your family will devour them. Yum ❤

You can handle the contacts, Leslie. I think you will love them, if they can fit you correctly and they feel good in your eyes. I take mine out about 8 each night and put on my glasses for the rest of the evening. Be sure to keep glasses, too, in case of illness, headaches, etc. Can't wait for them to call you!!!

Leslie, I wore hard contact lens (stigmatism would not allow soft) for over 52 years and then when cataract removed got implant. I loved my contacts so much , but I can tell you that this implant is a dream come true. No more sty or infections. I hope you are able to get what you want.

Good luck on the contacts. There was never a more determined person than I was, but I never could wear them. I didn’t have any trouble adjusting to the one lens for close vision and the other lens for distance vision. My problem was dry eyes. I tried artificial tears, but I had to use them every few minutes. My eyes burned and I couldn’t wear makeup. It was awful. And I tried several different times. Thankfully, I had cataract surgery a few years ago and no more glasses!

I didn't think I could do contacts because I can't stand anything close to my eyes ,but to my surprise I was able to poke my finger in my eye but I couldn't let them .crazy I know 😂😂

That is true about multi focal contacts. I have worn contacts for 40+ years but when I started needing readers more, I tried the multis and my distance vision was too blurry for my liking. The mono vision (1 lens for distance & 1 for close up) did not work. I experimented with my trials and came up with a combination that worked for me and it has for almost 10 years. I wear a multi focal in one eye and a straight distance in my eye with the worst astigmatism. It works For Me but distance is not as clear and vivid as it is with glasses. Glasses have become my goto choice because working outside on our farm sometimes causes me to get dust and dirt under my contacts.

I wore contacts from the time I was 14 till I was in my 50's. I had cataract surgery and they corrected my vision, too. No glasses for the 1st time since I was 9. 😊. You got this!
