@@Xavier-xg9yt it really sucks too because the white dress she's wearing originally had a very long train but instead of accuracy she went for safety (ie: not wanting to trip during choreography herself or any of the other girls) and it's frustrating but I also get why the judges judged her the way they did.

@@laraghamian8477 they shouldnt have had the princess diana part, ginger should not have gotten the russian character when that is literally katya's M.O. they could have come up with a different character for ginger to play. the look really hadnothing to do with it except for like 2 of them because most of the characters were from a time before cameras, so we dont know how they would have really looked because paintings were highly stylized to favor the beauty standards of the time. at the end of the day Katya was set up to fail.

Ironically, I feel like they suit each other's parts better. Diana doesn't have a lot going on in her scene so the reliance is on facial expressions (which Ginger is the best at), plus if I remember correctly from an article I read she's a pageant girl so she would be able to exude the energy better. Catherines scene is raunchy/filthy, and that's the kind of thing Katya can lean into really well (since a lot of her work outside of the show is in the dark sex jokes vein) and the Russian accent would be the cherry on top. She could also incorporate some fun gymnastics things. I feel like that's what would have happened if they were allowed to pick their parts and weren't just assigned them.

Can we talk about how Roxxxy was really really good in this… She nailed the steps and her face really matched the comedy of the lyrics…

I mean, as a Brit... Princess Diana’s dress was iconic BUT it was huge 😂😭 it was puffy, heavy and the train was SO LONG. How could Katya *possibly* have danced in a replica of it? 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️ I do think the dress she wore was a bit too simple and the fabric was way too shiny and thin, but I knew who she was right away before her part came up 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t think it’s the worst likeness. She had a really bad set of choreography. It was just preening and the body rolls on the long note 🙄 they could have given her way better choreo. She could have lifted the dress up to the thigh to show some leg and been more sexy, or had a reveal to the “revenge dress” underneath 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ 90% of the problems with Katya’s part were choreography and that’s not her fault

Also - (I’m coming back to this because I’m still pressed 😝) - the lyrics were a miss too 🙄 “They made me give up my crown”. Well... no, they didn’t, because it wasn’t really *her* crown to begin with 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ She was only a royal by marriage so of course, in a divorce, she can’t exactly stay a royal can she? “Be careful what you wish for because this English rose has thorns” - what does that even mean?! Who is wishing and for what? 😂 And in the longer audio version there’s a bit for Cleopatra: it talks about her starting from the bottom and working her way up to the “top of the pyramid, just like all the boys did”. They obviously don’t know Cleopatra didn’t “grind” to get to become queen 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ It was a birth right 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Tutankhamun was 9 when he became pharaoh; doubtful he worked super hard to get there either 😂😂😂 in addition, I know “Eve” is a biblical reference but scientists refer to the first woman as Eve too. It’s a common reference point and if you’re doing the history of the world’s powerful badass women, you start with “Eve”. I get that. What I *don’t* get... is Helen of Troy 😂🤔 She wasn’t a real person 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ She’s fictional. So it’s not exactly history is it, Lucian? 😂 Although I actually loved the rusical in general, the massive errors are irritating 😂👌🏻

This was the best rusical imo, the worst queens in this weren't even that bad. Everyone knew their words, everyone knew where to go, and everyone knew what to do. Over all, this rusical definitely outshines all the others.

Watching this back a couple years later, and this really was one of the best Rusicals, and the BEST cast of All Stars. Pretty much every performance was full of personality and was executed well. No one forgot the choreography or words and were really feeling it. We just don’t get it like this anymore on Rupaul’s overproduced rigged race.

@@airtempest8945 I saw both seasons, I've watched every episode of Alyssa's Secret, I saw her Werq The World tour episode, I've seen her Netflix show "Dancing Queen" 3X's and all I can say is, she is no more arrogant than most of those judgemental twats who are contestants on those shows. Most of them all they have is drag. Justin/Alyssa is THE most quotable QUEEN, she is fiercely talented, stunning, owns every stage like no other, she's an entrepreneur, a mentor, her students ADORE her immensely, she now has a gorgeous make-up collab pallet with ABH, has the longest lines @ Drag Con etc. etc. Katya said it herself on AS2 after she got eliminated "She is literally the most memorable creature to ever walk through those doors". The choreography didn’t even let her move from her spot on stage! Like, what did they want her to do? They gave her a little square to work in and an unfunny verse along with a diva whose most iconic look is a wedding dress known for its train which she couldn’t wear since it would inhibit her movement during her choreography in the other girls parts. She was screwed from the start

honestly she was my favourite, she looked stunning (and accurate, detox) and the song was so fun and she performed it with such life it was fantastic

I hate how in the critiques they attacked Katya's Princess Dianna for being inaccurate (btw I think it was pretty accurate) but they didn't have a single problem with Detox's Marie Antoinette being highlighter yellow and pink

the thing is, the level was simply REALLY high in AS2, Ginger didn't do bad indeed! but she didn't truly KILL any of the challenges like she did in S7 (or later in AS6) - her Adele or "Eggs!" acting challenge are both LEGENDARY

Katya doesn’t get enough love as the backup dancer to a lot of these parts. My eyes kept on going to her because she had so much energy and was nailing pretty much everything

I know it's not the point but it is really weird that Marie Antionette and Annie Oakley were born only 86 years apart.

Katya was set up to fail but absolutely NAILED her lip sync

This is the only place where Roxxxy actually has the best verse.
