He told Tango on stream his idea he alluded to after the hermitcraft space program segment. Lets just say its a perfect example of why he's here, and why i want more Skizz and Etho interactions. (Etho taught Grian and everyone in doublelife the power of the fishingrod resulting in a warden kill, and this is the root cause of the hermitcraft space program segment shown in today's episode that taught Skizz the same info. Therefore i want i direct transfer of obscure etho knowledge to Skizz just to see what happens.) But even without that, those two are fun together.

TFC used to very much be a builder. His season 6 fallout vault was very good but that's about when he started feeling the effects of his medical issues. His last few seasons as his health deteriorated, he struggled to be able to dedicate the energy to work on a big project, and make something as good as he was capable of. So he became the mole man of the server and just enjoyed the mines.

⁠@@thedoctorTARDIShis vault was really awesome and the thoughts behind the stuff he put in there was really cool but at a base level of building i would say hes similar to skizzleman (his redstone was actually really good though. his season 6 sorting system was super good). its their personalities that really hold them up, theyre both just generally awesome and funny people more than amazing builders and thats all that really matters. skill in the game doesnt matter atall if the person is just a super cool person. tfc and skizz are both true hermits no matter what. (also rest in peace tfc)

Don't worry about trying to keep up with the other hermits. Doing so will only detract from your gameplay and experience. We watch you to have a good time and the best way you can make that happen is by having a good time too.

Joe put signs all over the battlefield in season 6, so Skizz isn't even the first hermit to do that.

I don't know why but Skizz screaming "GET BACK HERE AND HUG ME" to Scar at 26:31 made me laugh. It is such a Skizz thing to say. I'm so glad he in on the server now. He is going to be great.

I am so glad that skizz was added, people seem to forget that hermitcraft is not a server exclusive to "builders" and redstoners (builders in parentheses because in my opinion if you build anything you are a builder) It’s a server where people are invited to bring over good things, be that cool machines, beautiful builds, weird builds, minigames (or mega games like decked out) or just good vibes and interesting ideas. No one is forced to watch anything they don't want to, but it's not okay for them to judge someone for doing something that doesn't fit their own view of the server. Keep up the great work Skizz!

I actually like Skizz as a person but if we're honest he's lacking a lot in the building department. He is a perfect character in something like the Life series where his improv skills really shine. If Skizz was producing Minecraft videos without knowing impulse IRL he would have a few hundred subscribers at most. Again I like skizz a lot and he has a great character but I think somebody like Martyn would have been a way better addition to hermitcraft because he brings fun interaction and can build decently.

I am confident that if Skizz joined Hermitcraft 8-10 years ago, he would have 5M+ Subscribers by now. Skizz's storytelling and outgoing social skills (plus confidence on camera) genuinely makes him one of the strongest, most entertaining hermits. I am so hyped for what he does this season.

I know your work sabbatical is about to start, but don't literally exhaust yourself on the grind. You put so much work into every shot and cut, as you showed in your stream yesterday. Your mettle as a director (because yes, that is what you are) shows itself so well.

Honestly, I’m here to watch you interact with the other hermits. Which is where you shine. You learning to build could be a seasons long story arc for all I care.

Part of the charm of hermitcraft is the differences in the hermits and the variety they all bring to the server as it unfolds. Just find your groove and bounce it off the others.

Maybe he can invite someone like Scar or Pearl to do a similar segment for building. And honestly his building skills will grow with time anyway just being surrounded by examples to learn from and inspect. And I'm sure advice/tips will be freely given whenever he asks for it. (Similar to last season when scar gave impulse advice on the texturing of his rocks. He emulated a noise brush and the shotgun effect looked bad, scar told him that most patterns in nature are a result of water flowing so we like more wavy/bloby/streamy patterns over a noise brush.)

@@JediSentinal I mean tangos base was decked out and deep frost citadel. Beef not so much although his project was season-long and took him away from a lot of hermit shenanigans. Cub may not have built a proper base either, but his season was still devoted to a lot of big projects as well. But in general, I think most viewers just prefer the non-building content that hermits hanging out with each other.

Heya skizz. You got a BAJILLION comments but if you see this, your build is EPIC! the use of the vines behind the exterior to bring out the S shape is so unique and the colour pops out really well. You know what I really like? Skizz's voice, and his voice acting, if that's the correct term. To call out an example: 26:42 making his voice sound like he himself is climbing up onto the edge as he says "There we go" is just a nice touch, shows the effort Skizz puts into his videos, and is just, generally speaking, really enjoyable to listen to. Also, loving the 'S' highlighted by the blue vines. It will be unmistakable whose base that is, in the best way possible :D

@@sillydave5544 Hmm, I have to disagree on that - Scar is for me more turquoise or yellow. While yes, Skizz for me is actually more dark blue (along the lines of lapis lazuli), that blue of the vines doesn't really fit Scar's branding in my opinion. But that how opinions differ! ☺

I just wanna say Skizz being on the server is kind of a breath of fresh air. So different from everyone else but in a good way. Also don't worry about pacing yourself with the other hermits. That's a surefire way to burn yourself out and kill your own enjoyment! Do your thing and have fun! That's why they wanted you there in the first place :)

For the pyramid, have you considered combining the psychological hierarchy levels with Minecraft gameplay progression? Eg the bottom layer would be dirt and trees, with farms for providing food, and some simple shelter. Then the next level could be a stone fortress representing safety, maybe with some iron for iron armor. Love is the nether level because red. End blocks are for esteem because beating the ender dragon is an external motivation. The final level of self actualization is something more creative as a representation of moving beyond the gamified parts of Minecraft and finding things about it that you enjoy doing for your own goals.

Yeah. Tiny room full of zombies is surprisingly lethal. It's killed quite a few players over the years. The only way to escape it is using blocks that zombies don't block, or using water to stop zombies

Someone 100% has to create a minigame for the hermits where the person with the most sleeps in a certain timeframe wins a prize!

Just as Skizz fell at 17:45 , I nearly dropped my phone while getting ready to walk down the stairs inside the train. I cannot make this stuff up. I managed to catch it in the air and Skizz and I made a sigh of relief at the same time. How does this even happen. I'm delirious from laughter. Death in a pit of Zombies. Got some heavy Bdubs ( Life series) vibes. But I loved it. Really only way it could have been better was if Scar had been the zombie entry. Joel was a great substitute. Rock on Skizz you da man!

I know myself I’ve struggled with keeping motivation because I constantly compare myself to others, and when I realize I can’t compete I just stop trying. I’ve been trying to fix that by just doing things I want to do at my own pace my own way, I think if you judge life as a competition you’ll always be disappointed, you’ve gotta just do your own thing and appreciate the process, it’s been working for me so far. I think as the dust settles you’ll fall into your place on hermitcraft, you’ve got talent and you’re actually one of the two hermits I even consider watching.

I always love when skizz put in the epic music, first with Scar in Secret life, and now on Joel with the trap

I'm a sucker for epic camera work and imo Imp and Skizz never fail to get some amazing shots in. I really loved the fly-by as the crew toured the mountain with the silly banter.

The conga line sound was hilarious 😂 It sounds just like it!

Skizz is the perfect addition. Minecraft needs a Skizzleman under, over, and in between!

I would LOVE to see a real floating forest build, like a hanging garden/arboretum type thing. With Grian's "vertical mineshaft", and so on, this season is already seeming like one that just breaks all the "rules"
