no profits are not being "lost". No, he is not technically taking from his stock. The only way he loses out is if the guardian farm doesnt keep up with the amount of crystals he's taking, and I'm pretty sure it can. Especially since there is more than one person generating drops from the farm. Meaning he probably wont run out of crystals for the shop. meaning he can use the extra crystal (the surplus) for his own benefit. *Seriously* dont be like my username.

Hello iskal. THe reason the light isn't goin though the 5th layer, is because the sealanterns only radiate light in a certain amount of blocks radius. (think its 8) And since every layer is 2 blocks high, you pass the 8 block mark at 4 layers. I would recommend to only make it 4 layers deep, but switch the floor out with some white block. like concrete powder as you mentioned! :)

Forget the cylinder: make it a giant ice javelin or spear, as if it were tossed from space into the hole, and the hole was made by the impact. Keep the fog, as if it were created by the impact. Randomize the ices and glasses throughout the spear, taper it to the bottom and the top, and make it fairly uneven, if that makes sense. Then go to the pylons, get rid of the sandstone and replace it with snow. That tan color just doesn't work in the ice biome.

Consider the scene you are creating. What are the pylons doing? It looks like the pylons are summoning something out of the ice. It looks great with the ice on the corners. I think the problem you're having is a lack of a third accent color. Ice blue and white are too similar. I'm sorry so say, but I would have put magenta (maybe iskallium) gems in the pylons, then used magenta glass for the fog effect. As if the power of the pylons is lifting the center object from deep in the ice. What if the center object were an organic shape? Or a creature surrounded by ice. Maybe it is a crystal now, and later it opens, and then later something climbs out? Maybe a giant Santa Claus climbs out in December, or a Yule Goat. Take a look at "MTG Hedron art" if you need inspiration.

You could put snow around the wall down at the bottom. Like you did with the ice hanging from the top. But make it like the snow has drifted up against the walls. That would break up the hard edges of the glass and also hide some of the grid pattern the glass is making close to the walls.

Hey Iskall! Like how your builders block 'melted' finally! :-) when you added icicles forming over the edges of the chasm. That's given it movement like maybe something hot (an alien ship?) landed and melted the hole in the ice and the water flowed over a little over the edges and froze mid-flow. Maybe add more drama, more contrast to make the ice maybe stand out with blue glass panes and white glass panes, (something like Scar did wih his volcano and the magma cubes and the ash / smoke just put it on ice (like your hitman services guarantee ;-) you put people on ice!)? ) You can do the same with glass panes adding facets to your crystal in the middle too. Adding in blue ice somewhere too, maybe around the ice edges? If you want to do a crystal in the middle, what if the top of it is a beacon (shaped with extra blocks to round it) and the bottom is an upside down mirror of the beacon floating in the middle there. Maybe with a doughnut ship thingie around the outside being made of warm stuff that caused the ice to melt? It would be interesting having some warmth contrasting. Ender crystal somewhere in the middle would add another colour to your build and highlight, if you want to add pink as another colour. Lots of ideas there. It'll be beautiful whatever you do! I like the frosty floor you've done, it's very "cool!" :-P

  • @crossfirekira2160
    @crossfirekira21605 жыл бұрын

So, I think that if you solidify the lore behind this build, that will help the build look better. Why is this cylinder here? What are the pylons for? It seems like it was a space ship or meteor that fell into the iceburgs. Maybe it has a radioactive iskallium core or something. The pylons are there to contain the radioactivity, or something. The heat of the meteor melted the hole in the ice and caused the fog at the bottom. Over time, water has dripped over the sides of the hole, making icicles. Maybe rain and snow has fallen on top of the meteor and created more icicles and such. You usually make your builds with a backstory in mind, which is why they all look freaking amazing! That's why I'm surprised that I haven't heard you talking about it here. Keep up the great content!

Love the water flowing down the inside of the circle and forming ice cycles. As well as the idea of random ice around the edge changing up the height and making it not so perfectly round. The small part you did, looked really good for the edge work and I think that is the answer for that part of the build.

I like the blue ice and also breaking up the shape. The ice "dripping" down the sides of the hole adds a lot. You might mix the ice piles around the hole with a couple blocks of snow here and there (I don't mean every pile), and maybe have 4 or 5 that are a block or two taller so they don't look too much the same. I think it might even be cool to have a few piles around the edges of the fog, maybe 5-7 piles unevenly placed, to make it look like the drips sometimes melt a little longer and get caught on the sides lower down. That would make the whole build look like it's been there a while, I think.

For materials on the center structure, take a look at concrete blocks, mixed with ice and snow. Particularly white concrete, blue, light blue, and perhaps blue-green. Especially under a layer of glass to add texture. You could also use Prismarine I think, and it might work.

for the cylinder- blue ice, packed ice, and ice with snow spotted around. The packed ice and ice can spill, (like what you did with the big circle) the blue ice can possibly be the mane part, and the snow can either be the toppings for your build, the light reflections, (like what happens on the glass texture) or both. Or the cylinder can be snow with blue ice support beams from the big circle to the cylinder with packed ice and ice spilling (like what you did with the big circle). '-'

As more and more snow and ice was added to the building it got more and more packed towards the bottom. I think that *might* help the main building stand out more, while at the same time, still keeping it true to the colors of the icy Biome

What if you made the points of the crystal solid but the body cylinder open/see-through/fogged? That would remove a whole lot of material from the cylinder that might allow it to work better with the crystals/walls, and the open area would be able to contain a different (but probably related) color scheme. I don't know what your plans are for the crystal beyond being a gigantic decorative centerpiece, but if you're using it as a basis for some sort of power generation system perhaps this center area could be like the control room. Fill it up with villagers, and perhaps nametag them with your patron names (pay $5 to become a nitwit, hehe). Or you could make it an aquarium, filled with fish. Hide a small infinite village breeder in the top cone of the crystal, and when you need to get rid of bad-trade villagers you can walk them off a plank to "swim with the fishes".

Actually looks nice when snow falls on it. If you throw the blue glass over top it will wash it all out a bit and mellow out the different textures too.

  • @screamineagle88

Sorry but I don't do Twitter. If you are trying to make a cylindrical crystal then don't forget that natural crystals are not really round. Try making the center with 6 equal sides. Also, try a mixture of blue ice, blue glass, snow at the top and bottom (if the bottom is suppose to be seen), and try adding some blue glass panes to get some depth in places. That might work for you. Also, give the white concrete floor a try, but also see what putting all sea lanterns in the floor ( in a small spot) would look like. And while your at it, if the white glass is suppose to be a mist, then what about adding some white glass spikes, and some glass panes tips to add some texture to the top of the "cloud"?

Uh, I hope your day job doesn't depend on math. A Minecraft block is a meter per side. 93 * 64 = 5952. So laid in a line would be 5.952 km. 6 linear kilometers would be OK to say. But cubic measurement implies volume. 1 cubic kilometer would be a cube 1000 blocks high by 1000 blocks wide by 1000 blocks deep, or 1,000,000,000 blocks. That's a billion, with a B. 6 cubic kilometers would be 6 billion blocks. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

It's probably the texture pack. As far as translucency. What your looking for is difference in how light passed through the object. In a transparent object light changes direction only at the entry and exit points. In a translucent object it may change direction many times in between the entry and exit points. Most games represent this as blurring of the image that makes it to the other side of a translucent object and/or as glowing of the material when it's lit. Sometimes you get cool exotic forms of translucency in games, like color extinction in water.

Using whitee with air gaps mean you pretty well loose all the light, making the sea lanterns usless.
