Hermitcraft 10: Science & Hermit Permits! (Ep. 6)

Ойындар

Welcome to an action-packed episode of Minecraft from the Hermitcraft Season 10 server! Today we repeat a mining science experiment to determine which method of mining is the best. Then, we create a Bamboo and Sugarcane farm using flying machines. Finally, we decorate our Bee farms and meet up with all other hermits to conclude the Demise game, and introduce Hermit Permits, which opens the shopping district for the season!

Well and that, together with Docs mining machine, already busts the economy with inflation before there even is an economy :p I think at this point they should ask for different items for payment. Maybe Doc is on the right track with charging sand, because you cant automate that too much (if duping is banned) 🙂

The hermit permit system is an amazing idea! There's so many ways it could end up playing out, but I expect that some people will trade to get multiple permits for collective items and then have a small group handling all the glass, wool, etc. Think the permit for the dyes would be another good one for Cub to have since he needs all the colors for the rockets anyways. Will be interesting to see who is going to make farms for their dyes and who's going to buy them from the shop. Hope the fireworks shop will take off and people not only use it for overkill crossbow projectiles.

What you are not taking into account is that strip mining will give those resources reliably, while for caves you need to find the caves and you are not always going to find them. So strip mining still wins. And the caves can be full of mobs which makes you waste time fighting mobs or brewing potions. So while you in theory can strip mine without stopping, caving requires you to stop, which would diminish the amount of resources you get

Thinking back a few seasons, this is where you need a Mayor for the shopping district. To issues and revoke permits and to police the illegal trade of goods and counterfeit permits. Something the Ministery of Ministers might be set up to do.

It would be a massive change, but I'd be interested in seeing a Hermitcraft season where all farms (other than food of course) are banned. The grind, bartering, and shared struggle for resources would make for a super interesting season I think.

Iron: Iron Farm. Gold: Gold farm. Redstone & Lapis: Cleric. Diamonds: Useless as soon as I get mending. The only reasons to mine are deepslate, tuff, and calcite. What's better for that, strip mining or cave mining? ;)

Fun fact... If you rewind the video all the way to the beginning and keep tapping skip back you can make a nice snare beat with an occasional dog bark if you time it right and then Cub comes in with the drop 😂 enjoy

I appreciate the change to ENCOURAGE users to explore and not ruin the experience for those that continue to strip mine. The cave generation (since Caves and Cliffs) is just an amazing addition to the game. Truly cavernous wonders to behold! I usually strip mine early on, due to safety, then explore later. When you're geared up, I love getting lost while resource gathering.

That would be so cool of your dream of all firework being fire at the same time. Maybe you can organize an event during New Year (If this season ongoing till that time) or other festival.

Will definitely need to take advantage of crafters to automate the firework making process. Could even figure out a system to randomize them

I was confused why you would trade for explosive fireworks when flight rockets were the popular type. But setting farms up for explosive foreworks knocks off like 10 other permit resources from your shopping list, so thats clever. Oh and also, make a mob head farm because creeper fireworks exist.

Cave mining is so much more fun, more dangerous, yes, but more fun. When I strip mine I go at -54 and do the poke holes on either side (as Cub did) plus up and down.

Once your cave is "stripped" your future return in zero (in that cave). But tunnel miners can continue in the same area as many resources remain.

for the firework shop, you could do something where in one section of the shop you buy ingredients, and in another, you load them into 3 barrels, where whatever is submitted in the first is auto-crafted into firework stars, in the second into adding fades, and in the third into the final rockets.

Tunnel bores beat strip mining AND caving if you build them wide enough. Mine is 9 chunks wide. Btw, I love how the permit looks like a huge hand when you hold it. =) Looking forward to seeing the firework factory rise. I hope shop customers will be able to select exactly the fireworks they want, using redstone "magic".

I would say use silk touch. This way you can remove the extra error in the amount in gaining a random amount of diamonds with the fortune. The amount of time you mined and the amount of diamond ores you mined makes it smaller.

I think strip mining has still some merits if you like to build with blocks like deepslate or tuff or if you lack the fine motor control or reaction time to deal with too many hostile mobs. Also it’s pretty relaxing, so I wouldn‘t exactly say it’s dead, just because cave mining is more effective in terms of ores. They just have slightly different purposes wich is great in my opinion.

The permits sound like a good idea, but in my opinion, there should be two permits of every type to inspire competitive pricing and avoid the situation where the only shop that sells x is out of stock for extended periods (and you go build your own farm for that item to avoid the delay).
