Yes, the primary difference between the Timascus versions and normal Ti versions is the material. The most expensive versions have Timascus handles with an inlay and a Damacore blade. Mr. Herman makes them all himself (based on his Insta at least). He makes almost everything by hand - as far as I can tell he doesn't make the screws other than rounding the ends. He even makes the bearings. He seems to make them in batches of 5 and unfortunately since they have gotten coverage here on KZread, the models that are covered are mostly sold out. I have 2 of his knives now and they are stunning but I agree with you about the pocket clips, and both of mine have a wavy texture on the surface but it's polished so they are pretty slick. I bought a second knife thinking that I would carry it occasionally but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the slick feeling. I'd rather have the surface on that Sting. All of my interactions with Polish Custom Knives have been friendly and helpful as well, and both shipments took under a week to get to me on the West Coast.

I’ve got my sights on Herman Knives. Polish Custom Knives had a Herman up last week in Damasteel and plain titanium that was really alluring. Yeah, and it didn’t last long.

Yeah, I had been looking at a couple of different Ishtars but I had to wait about 10 days to make the purchase, and then Nick Shabazz did his review of the Ishtar... they sold like 6 Ishtars in about a week. Fortunately he had a couple more in production so a really cool one came up the day I was ready to buy.

Thanks for reviewing this knife - it's highly underrated IMO compared to some other very good but heavily hyped machined titanium frame knives. It's just an incredibly well made and beautiful knife. I love mine and it has a different sound and feel than any other flipper I own.

I would really like to hear a comparison to the Holt Specter. They both have a very similar look that I find amazing. The Holt is my current grail knife but this is just as amazing looks wise.

Compared to the haptic, the details and construction are relatively comparable quality wise. The haptic has its insane drop shutiness and adjustable detent, which is an advantage. But I like the ergos and contouring more for the sting. Very comparable quality wise with the holt stuff.

I snagged one made in Aug. 2021 and he has switch to a very large t20 torx pivot screw that’s polished and milled. Still comes with the tool, but you can use your own torx screw.

Not bad only 750 bucks. I wish it had a tall hollow grind
