Interesting recommendation for the 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the last year of the WK. We have a 2008 JGC with the 5.7L Hemi and Quadra-Drive II. It's had a number of annoying mechanical and electrical issues that seem to be common across the WK models. One of the biggest concerns I have is the "Hemi-tick" with the Multi-Displacement System lifters failing and wiping the cam. I would avoid the Hemi and go for the 4.7L V-8.

Hey Scotty, I just had to replace the radiator on my 05 4.0 V6. It was overheating in idle so I changed the thermo and the rad cap and when I did that, drove it about 30 miles. When I got to where I was going, I shut off the car and there was smoke coming from under the hood. The pressure in the radiator had built up with the new cap and popped off the reservoir hose and was spraying coolant vapor all over over my engine, hence the smoke. I then reconnected the hose with a hose clamp, topped off the coolant and drove it home. It had gotten so hot by the time I got home, that the coolant had melted through the radiator cap housing and was shooting out the side. 30 miles on little to no coolant on the freeway and when I changed the radiator that was the ONLY problem. She runs so smooth now. I CANNNOT BELIEVE it didn't blow a head. I thought for sure I fucked it. Toyota for life man

I own a 2004 4Runner Limited (V8). It has 228,000 miles on it and it runs like new. No failures of any kind other then the radiator, which broke after a long ride down a vicious hard-packed dirt washboard road in northern New Mexico. The vibration was so bad on that road that we actually discussed it in the truck, and sure enough a few days later, the radiator broke. The clutch wore out on my AC compressor, and I replaced the entire compressor myself for $60 by installing a used salvage compressor, which runs like new. I use synthetic fluids throughout. No leaks. Transmission was just flushed and filled - perfect. 2nd timing belt was replaced after it had 124,000 miles on it, and the old belt was in perfect condition. Not one single crack in the rubber, and the teeth still had nice crisp edges. Windows, power seats, Bose stereo, sunroof - all perfect. Personally, I cannot imagine ever driving anything but a 4Runner. It is Toyotas' best vehicle. The Lexus GX470 is built on a 4Runner frame with the same V8 engine. The Toyota Land Cruiser - 4Runner frame and I think the same engine and maybe same trans. Rated to pull 5000 pounds
