Hey Doug, One quirk you missed is the welcome light that illuminates the space in front of the car doors. When the driver and/or passenger approach the vehicle, a full-colour AMG logo is projected onto the ground directly below the doors! It's completely unnecessary but definitely a cool quirk to highlight. My best mate just got a G63 and I've only seen it in the evening so maybe it's only visible in the dark? Either way, it's a unique quirk that I haven't seen on any other car!

I had the chance to drive this last week. Absolutely flabbergasted, what a joy to drive. Only thing that annoyed me are the too aggressive safety measures (lane keep assists for example) and the fact that you get too much attention in it. Aotherwise, great car.

Hi Doug, I really like the video! If and when you get a chance, can you review the G350d or G400d? It would be really interesting to see how you think the "cheaper" diesel G-wagens compare to the AMG one. Is it worth it to buy the cheaper diesel one? Or is it not even a fair camparison between the two? I really love the G63 AMG and it feels so wierd and funny to drive with that engine, but I have never driven a diesel one and I have a feeling that the diesel engine fits the car better. Keep up the good work, Love from Sweden.

Well a lot of cars with high horsepower engines have a button to open and close exhaust valves. That’s not really unusual. The diff locks are but not an exhaust switch. Same with a manual mode switch, pretty normal now

6:41 Schöckl is a mountain in my hometown Graz (in Austria). It’s the nearest mountain to the factory of the G-class and used to test its off-roading capability. Tough to hike it, yet alone drive on it with a car

I owned that exact vehicle and it does not sell for 200k. 2.5 years ago they were selling for 100k over that in Houston. Today they sell for 250k. They are definitely NOT even close to worth that price. I love the look, the cabin appointments, the heavy doors and overall vibe, but for a vehicle that expensive, it's appeal is only to a niche market of people who aren't in the least bit interested in comfort, handling or discretion. i went with the AMG GLE 63 s and never looked back -- and i still love that G Wagon look.

I love how Doug has that favorite parking spot over at CNC Motors where he reviews all his CNC Motors cars. lol

My new 1980 Sunbird had an option for a limited slip differential. I understood it to be of assistance when in slippery conditions. I live in a snowy area. I ordered it.

I drove one at work and its amazing

except for the carbon fibre, my 80 thousand $ Chevy Silverado 3500HD High Country has the same camera manual shift mode lane depature etc. With a Duramax diesel twin Turbo producing 495 hp and 910 ft lb torque. it's wider also.
