Best Hercules of my childhood

I like the music while Herc is battling the snake lady. Hercules was also a fun show. Glad to see both Xena and Herc clips on this channel. 😊

I was psyched when this series started. Season one of Hercules is awesome.

I know a lot of people like Xena more than Hercules, but if it wasn't for Hercules' show, there wouldn't be Xena. This show started it.

@@podsmpsg1 Also true. Xena was less of a kid's show but had quite a few brilliant plots and interesting moral dilemmas. Also the duality of Xena, being a former villain who is now trying to redeem herself, made her character very intriguing. When I was growing up, I loved watching Xena but also enjoyed Hercules.

I actually love both shows equally. They're both a part of my childhood and they both hold a special place in it :)

I know everyone enjoys Xena but I appreciate the mythos in Hercules. Doesn't hold up nearly as well with time as Xena but I would love another series based in Greek mythology.

I grew up with this show in HS. Many found memories watching this with my family.

Hercules and Xena was and still is great show I wish they would bring them back to staz so all can injoy old and new alike

y'all realize that the actress who plays the she demon has to be in her early 50's by now.

The 90s, this was my childhood. Plan to get the whole series on DVD, bought Young Hercules with Ryan Gosling already, need Xenas aswell. Nothing today will ever top what I had growing up with

This Hercules show introduced me to MCU level story telling. Meaning what happens to one show effects the other etc. Buffy and Angel did it too before the MCU. Combined worlds are such a cool way of story telling and world building. The crossovers!!!!

This she-demon is good looking.

I think this scene featured 2 moments from the show's intro, whcih makes it iconic. As a kid I was extremely excited with such concepts. Although it wasn't made very well, especially where she needed to act a bit. It was kinda demanding the duality of sweet temptress and the screeching monster, the laughing too but they could have chosen a lady that could kinda act.

It's saturday afternoon 1 day before halloween, we have beautiful 65 degree weather, and I am getting in the spooky mood with these epic ancient battles of monsters and myth! Cheers everyone! sipping folgers rn too...

Friends, there is no need to argue about which series is better, about Xena or about Hercules. These are two incredibly cool stories, and you have to understand that they are part of the same universe. Personally, it has always been interesting to me, after a gloomy and harsh series about the Price, to watch a positive series about the wanderings of Hercules. Of course, both shows had comedy and drama series, but each series had its own charm, and now I can't imagine that one of these series wouldn't exist. After all, it was Hercules who made it clear to Xena that it was possible to take a different path and try to atone for mistakes.

The music alone brings me back to my Jr high/high-school days when times were good. And then there's all of the epicness packed into the show itself

Okay, so the audio’s a little sped up, but whatever. ... Hecate got name-checked in this episode, but I wish she’d shown up at some point. ... This episode is tough to pull off, but it goes pretty well. The She-Demon is a memorable monster. In fact, I had her action figure. ... I don’t ever get tired of Herc’s music.

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed. The first six or so episodes on Tubi are strangely sped up. Edit: The show no longer seems to be available on Tubi but my point still stands that various episodes throughout the show are sped up as if they came from a PAL source. Best bet is to just buy the DVDs.

I remember this episode and how angry I was that Hera murdered Hercules's wife and kids, she crossed a line that should never be crossed. At least her plan to ruin Hercules's life failed and he took out her she-demon lackey. I'll bet she threw a fit when Hercules won.......

Hercules always won. It was very upsetting that Hera murdered Hercules' family by sending fireballs. That really shows how evil she is. And Herc's father zeus not stopping her? As loloas said zeus is no better. But hercules manage to do good and well without his father's help.

Meaning he wanted to know why zeus wasn't there when Hera murdered Hercules' family. And his mom said "it was a woman". Meaning zeus was chasing women again during Hera getting revenge on Hercules again by this time in the worst evil way she could by killing his most loved people in his life: his wife and children.

Me too! Hecate could have been awesome, but in season 1, they didn't show the gods personified except Xena. They were forces of nature. When actors started portraying the gods, they felt less omnipotent.

No I believe gorgons had snakes for hair and turned people to stone by just being looked at. This she-demon seems to be based on Lamia from Greek mythology, albeit with a few liberties taken.

Nicky Mealings the woman who plays the she demon here definitely had to have slept with someone to get that role because her acting is completely dreadful, it's no wonder why this was her one and only role.
