Her - Loneliness in Cinematography
Фильм және анимация
Her is one of the most beloved films of the past decade, everything from the story to the acting, to the cinematography is just perfect. Today I go over everything from the pre-production, how Hoyte Van Hoytema portrays Loneliness in the Cinematography to what equipment he used to achieve the look for the film.
Apologies for only uploading twice in the past month, I’ve been rather busy, but I do plan to upload at least two videos a week for the foreseeable future.

I’ve seen Her at least 10 times. Visually stunning, the feeling of love and loss hits me more than most films. I’m also sentimental because my wife and I lived in Shanghai. The very end of the movie is in the same district of where we used to go on our friends rooftop to watch fireworks. She and I watched this in the theater and when they walked up there, I was so full of emotion because it was our home at the early stages of our marriage. It made us weep. I was sad for the characters but also for everyone that has difficult relationships, relationships that fail etc. It’s such a beautiful film. Thank you for this breakdown. Well done.

It's just one of those films that never get's old. What a story! I can't think of a film where I have that deep a relation to it. Glad you liked it!
This movie is fantastic is a shame it’s not widely viewed

It’s one of those that I recommend to almost everyone!
Excellent breakdown. After watching this, I will go and watch “Her”, again. I think it is one of the most original films of this era. I think a lot of people can relate to it more than most films of this type. And I loved how they used a color palette that was not typical of science fiction. That’s one of the aspects of the film I respected most.

Thanks! It's just one of those films that never get's old so enjoy the rewatch! Oh 100%, and on that colour palette note, it's easily some of the best I've seen from the past decade.
This is a great video! Really underrated!

All thanks to Hoyte van Hoytema!
This is my second favourite film of the decade after Lowery's "A Ghost Story", and just above of Granik's "Leave No Trace". All three films I think share a lot of similarities visually and tonally despite being wildly different stories.
Awesome video, needs more views!!!
