Henrik Stenson - Reveals the Keys to His Improvement in 2013

Спорт

Stenson had to fend off Jordan Spieth, America's new wonder kid, and Steve Stricker to lift the Tour Championship title. His three-shot, wire-to-wire victory meant that in his last eight tournaments, since coming third in the Scottish Open in July, the Swede has amassed more than $15 million.
Pete Cowen, his swing coach, said players have individual patterns in their swings - whether you're watching Jim Furyk and Adam Scott. And it is very difficult to change them. But you can instead give them more control over their particular pattern. You can not do more than that, because it basically is in their DNA. And half the work is to create an understanding of this.
According to Cowen, this development can mainly be attributed to Henrik himself had gained a better understanding of how the muscles to be used and controlled in the movement itself. - It's that he's got a better understanding of how the golf swing works. Both linear, rotationally and up and down. Getting together these three elements is difficult. It takes a while. But now he has the potential to do this pretty easily by controlling their muscles. The golf swing is more about control than your muscles to move the body. It is the muscles that move the mass. And therefore, your muscles must be used properly. You need to understand which muscles to do what to achieve control. And when Henry has understood this, it has been fairly easy to get to the rest. Has he some peculiar conditions been an asset in your work? - His physical strength is a huge asset. When this is you can match muscle movements thereafter. Is not the strength required otherwise much manipulation to compensate.
The core of the technical work has been shaped around different drills - ie exercises that simulate or enhance certain of pig's motion sequences. Stenson and Cowen have avoided that tunnel vision on individual positions, but rather applied a holistic approach with the overall flow as a base. - Golf is not static, but dynamic. The game is three dimensional, while positions is only two dimensional. And you have to really be in control of the three-dimensional movement, which means to have control over the muscles.

Too bad Harmon had to interrupt Henrik right when he was going to explain how the hips react to, or move as a consequence of the pressuring move move from the right shoulder. He was hell bent on asking him about his "finish" which is far less consequential than the hips in the down swing.

If you study Henrik's swing in slow mo you will see he fires his hips like all the top pros so i think it's just a trigger he wants to get on top of the ball to crush it. No way are his hips square at impact. its a great drill & if performed correctly will prevent straightening of spine through impact.

yeah but that goes without saying. The problem with golfers and the golf world is everyone is over complicating the fuck out of a REALLY simple, naturally intuitive motion because the margin for error is so tiny in golf, it seduces you into thinking you need to change that sequence. Throwing a baseball, throwing a frisbee, skipping a rock on water. All of these things are literally identical to hitting a golf ball, just on a different plane and minus the major difference, which is in those sports you don't need to square the face. The squaring of the face makes everyone think their swing sucks. You aren't TAUGHT how to throw a ball. You jsut fucking throw it. And when you throw a ball you don't think about opening your hips or your shoulders. You cock your arm back and throw the ball....yet when you look on film your hips and shoulders are facing the target when you release the ball. Golf is the same way. You don't move your hips to pull the club. You swing the club at the fuckin ball and suprise suprise, your pelvis rotates out of the way and you shoulders open up because it's the only way you can get the club where it needs to be to hit the ball, but you DO NOT need to drag your body with your legs.

Charles Milano have you ever seen people try to throw a ball? It's not natural. It's something that needs to be learned. Go watch a d league softball game and tell me how simple it is to throw a ball.

The secret is the small pressure he makes with his right leg before starting the stroke, that feeling ensures the transfer of weight to the left leg and get the hands of play.

Damn dawg. Big Tommy. Just had to act like a keyboard warrior douche bag and drop a comment if not to support my favorite channel I just found. Never thought I would hear anyone talk about the right foot let alone in a comment section I randomly skimmed. I like to always find the least interesting vids. I heard of henrick at one point as everyone was saying him and two other country men were gonna obliterate golf. Been a long time tennis player amateur pro etc. Boxer and baseball guy. My point is I suck at all the them and worse at golf. What he talks about seems a lot like tennis baseball .pushing off slightly with the right foot helps me take the club back with just my left arm and shoulders etc like John daily says. Chip putt practice with left hand only the right only helps out last minute Don't have to worry about club path cocking lag release too much. Ton of vids on KZread talk about Rory and how he forward presses briefly with his left but since his ball position and stance and driver length etc etc swing speed and especially hip rotation is freakish it's a little different . But that left small push off I see same as his right foot loading very advanced and modern golf concept to a novice beginner as myself.but I will go out on a limb and say golf is so hard everyone is better than golf and more knowledgeable in one thing than I am or in general. Even top PGA roos apply it to golf and I feel like that's the fun of it all. Just my two cents. Feel free to blast me and leave 200 negative replys. At least I will be supporting Mr or Mrs roll your rock. This channel is so underated. Didn't want to even subscribe thinking KZread ai would reccomend to my 3 ball 4 ball but had to. Fyi I don't really like golf since I suck. Started a year into this shit covid bs of two years. More like one and half years into it. I got to range once a month. If I'm lucky I'll play anywhere from once a year to once a month. I really have no handicapped since I can lose 12 balls in a round easy from blue or white tees. But when people see my swing they think I take lessons and I'm high single handicap. My dad played 45 years. He's a 12 to 14 handicapp. Never seen him miss the center of a driver or putter. Irons yes since he plays any muni or public cheap course . People lie about their handicaps. I will say I'm a double Bogey on a good day 36 plus 72 108. That's awesome for me. I think I stop counting at 135. After that I wonder why I have a score card. Bring the hate. Let's get roll your rock to 250k at least. Stupid AI just found him for me. And I'm commenting on vids I watch every day before bed posted 9 years ago. With dudes like Tommy dawg 999 commenting. That's gotta be the smartest comment I've seen online since the web. And im a surgeon who went to school with tiger woods. I'm still an idiot when it comes to anything else but helping people. I know no one will read anything and I never sub or leave a comment but I must leave this for eternity in cyber space. Thanks y'all for reading.Hope you become a better golfer with every swing and roll.

Here's a tip for the movement of the right shoulder. From the top of the swing move it four inches down, which side bends the body and sets the shoulder line (and spine) on the correct tilt. From here just rotate through keeping the upper arms close to the side of the pec muscles and both eyes on the ball.

Yep, "the swing is the thing", lower body should respond to the swinging of the club by the arms and hands. Overactive lower body is a swing wrecker, it needs to follow not lead (that is the feeling, hips and legs will work even if one perceives they are not doing much)

Shortest vid and best comments. Lol. I could care less about cold Scandinavian pros who get mills to hit a ball. But yes that shoulder. Right or left. One after another. Never left a comment on KZread. Let alone back to back. Kiss. Shit concise. henrick almost talks like he's a tennis player like Louis oz. Great easy classic swings in my book . Or maybe he's being super humble and nice and giving us just a small simple mechanic most people will miss. But yes the next thing is the shoulder. Great save and very noble of you to share your knowledge.

Best golf comment ever ! Cbs needs you. Liv more. But don't do it for filthy wealth but for the principle... I wanna quit even before I've started golf. But why does golf draw people in. I don't get it and I don't think even world pros do. Don't think too many people did a vid on why golf is great. Shit I think there are 10 million grip vids in every language. Because of golf I don't know if I'm even left handed or right handing or am missing a finger or two. Gotta stare at my hands all the time. lol
