Any advice or input about altitude effects on hatch rate?

Very interesting question. I live at 1300 feet above sea level. And I once lived in the Black Hills South Dakota at 7000 feet above sea level. Cooking and baking. Everything was a chore at that altitude. Here's my speculation about altitude and eggs in a higher altitude. I believe that you'll have to watch the moisture level very carefully and constantly candle them after about 14 days and keep track of the air space. I really don't have any clue as to what the altitude will do to the hatch rate. Maybe you can keep track of it and then right back to me at my website peafowl.com and will report and make a video on that once you figure that out. What part of the world are you writing from and what is your altitude?. Thanks for the view

Your question intrigued me, so I did a Google search and this is what I found and it was interesting. "When incubating eggs at high altitudes, slower embryo growth, longer incubation periods and lower hatchability have to be expected. These problems could be solved by building a hatchery that can be pressurised to sea level atmospheric pressure" Who is going to do this? You have to tell me if you have any experience with what they said in this Google search. I hope this helps you. It sure taught me something new.

@@MisterPeacock I can tell you exactly who's going to do that The only reason I knew that this was a factor is because my uncle hatches ostriches and has essentially turned an old trailer into somewhat of a hyperbaric chamber for his incubators

@@MisterPeacock That's along the line with pretty much all of the information that I could find I found one table that suggested humidity deviations for altitude for chicken eggs so I'm just going to document absolutely everything I do and hope I can generate some data

@@MisterPeacock I am from Northern New Mexico and my specific altitude is 5681.43 feet I got eggs from three different sellers at varying altitudes from 1300 ft around 2,000 ft around 3,000 ft and around 4,000 ft to generate a decent experiment

Do this if they haven't hatched 2 days after pipping and are making no progress. But you need to be careful and know what your doing.

Need advice, quickly, please. Two eggs. Both pipped internally yesterday. One hatched a few hours later. The other still peeping periodically, rocks egg occasionally. I placed tiny air hole to buy him time with air yesterday (top of egg) because there is no external pip. STILL. When DO you help it out. It's over 24 hours, and late into the 29th day. I can't let it die.

Just what I said to do in the video. I've helped many birds over the years you just have to be careful. I think the video will be your perfect tool for doing so. What the hatch date was supposed to be. I just try to get them out of the shell at the right time without doing it too soon. The More you do it the better you get at it sometimes all goes well and sometimes not so good. Good luck
