I was bumming when the Brinsea Mini II Advance Incubator that I just got wouldn't turn my peahen egg! I actually was thinking about doing just what you did, but wasn't sure if it would work. Thank You!!! I'll be modifying my disk as soon as I get off here! oh, yeah, I know, it crazy my hen would lay an egg in September!?!

@@MrJustinWheeler K, did it, but, it wasn't working, the egg just wasn't turning enough. Even at 20 seconds. Soooo, I had some shelf liner I got from Micheals craft store and cut out a piece using the cardboard matt that came with the incubator. Didn't work, too much traction, sooo, I put the traction side down, and viola! worked like a charm! It grabbed the "floor" of the incubator but still had enough traction to grab the egg well. Also, the egg would start to spin end for end. hmmm, I put a egg I got from my chicken that lays huge eggs, slightly smaller than my peahen and it kept the peahens egg straight. And at 20 seconds they both turn 180 degrees perfectly. I'll look up the exact material and post it. Thanks again!

@@MrJustinWheeler I can't find the exact stuff on line, but, one side has to be more slip resistant than the other for the disk to turn without turning the matt material. Otherwise the egg is not getting pushed.

which came first? The Peacock or the egg?

Good question! And good timing. We just hatched a peachick using the same incubator yesterday. Hoping one more comes today.

Roosters don't lay eggs either. Hens do. The peahen lays the eggs. Simple birds and bees.
