I had the same problem. To fix it was just spreading my legs as I flicked and somehow it made me flick forward

@@sumireravenclaw8034 yeah but it’s the cheap way of getting the trick done he wouldn’t be able to do the trick at all the proper way that’s why it’s frowned apon because your skipping the tricks process to just land one for the sake of landing it. And it looks dumb lol

Garrett, I need you as a skate coach

Nobody can hardflip well because they always attempt it with that awful backfoot position... If you want steezy hardflips you'll listen to me and set up like a tre flip, angle your backfoot opposite to your front, pop into the far pocket while scooping forward and simultaneously giving a little flick. Spread your legs and let the board flip vertically. It may seem like you're doing some pressure variation, but trust me- after a while of practice you'll be surprised at how easy it is to spin with this method.

Aaron, why don't you try to skate a Penny Board (the small one)?

My hard flips are on flick!!!

last one he flicks way to the side and down lol yep. Almost every hardflip tut I see they say flick to the side. I tried that a bunch, didn't really work out, I figured out to flick just as master Garret says, although I do put my foot in fs shove position. My problem now is that I get a perfect flip, but my back foot just goes to far near the front bolts, so i can't get the front foot on. If i focus on landing with just the front foot, it just goes to far in front of me :/

@James D Daewon literally invented the trick. Obviously it wouldn't be flawless. You really think the first semi-accidental ollie or kick flip by Rodney Mullen looked super clean with both feet back on the bolts? Of course not. Oh and yes you can do kick flips the wrong way and still land them. It's more like a weird late flip type thing then, but with a flick instead of a quick tap down at the highest point in the air. 9 out of 10 times you'd never land it this way and this low. So I'm going to agree in how he got lucky. Also, two to make it true!

It's funny because the one he lands at 5:13 is wayyy more of a scooped hard flip than a flicked hard flip, it bounces off the ground and it doesn't go through his legs . . . so weird the tricks that happen when you're learning something.
