Help Support GRUFF - a Paper Short Film!

Фильм және анимация

Support today at gofund.me/044fec26
I'm Julian Curi, aka Righteous Robot, and I need your help with my paper-made Short Film.
Two years ago, I set out to tell a story about my relationship with my late dad. Life happened, and "GRUFF" was put on hold. This is a Short Film that I hope can resonate with people of all ages and backgrounds, and give them the kind of story I wish I had when I lost my dad.
With so many urging me to finish this film, I've come here to ask for your support! This style of animation is time-consuming and deserves several months of dedicated focus. But I'm committed to bringing you this heartfelt story in a fresh style that any lover of practical filmmaking will be sure to fall in love with.
Unless donating anonymously, I'll be proud to include all supporters in the credits of the film, which will hopefully play worldwide at film festivals! And with enough support, we may be able to get some recognizable voices to lend their talents to the film.
Thank you for believing in Gruff, and in me. See you on the red carpet!
Julian

My father died last year, and i miss him. But thats a reason to keep fighting for me, if you experience loss, "don't cry because it's gone, smile because it happened." And one more of my own, take loss as a way to gain, to learn more, and to be inspired by the good and great that they have done in their time of life.

I highly relate to the feeling of wishing I loved her more while she was here. I feel like once this comes out I'm gonna cry my eyes out

He was only 62 and we had no idea he was that sick💔 so it was a sudden and awful shock to us all. I miss him every day. I loved him so much. He was a really great funny loving family man. Talented too (he played banjo, guitar and sang irish trad). A beautiful soul gone too soon. No doubt if this short is about a father I'll be in tears. I'm still mourning him especially now that Christmas is coming. Stay doing what you do!

I lost my dad about 2 years ago now. It does seem like there are a lot of gruff dads out there who care, but don't necessarily say it all the time. There's also a whole group of people dedicated to trying to return the favor. It strikes me as odd that people can love each other, but get upset about how often it's talked about and use that to destroy the relationship. My dad wasn't the gruff one, he told me he loved me all the time, and made sure I knew. I was the one that didn't show a lot of affection. I regret it, but it just doesn't change who I am, and hindsight is 20/20. I told him on occasion, but I mostly just tried to be there for him the best I could, and I would overcompensate in doing so. I was blessed to have a father that wouldn't have changed how he treated me based on how much affection I showed him, I saw that because my siblings treated him like dirt, but he treated us all the same. He never stopped caring about us, and letting us know. I just want to tell people dealing with someone like that that, someone like me, just because they don't say it doesn't mean it isn't true. Try to show them some understanding, and empathize with the fact that different people show their love in different ways. Don't overthink things, don't assume the worst, just try and see the world through someone else's eyes.

That's good your making something out of the loss. I love when people take something that happened to them and make art out of it. It feels a lot more meaningful

Sorry about your father. We always wished we had more time with them… I love hearing my father’s stories of his life, things I never knew as a child. I just found your site, your work is fascinating and creative. Thank you for the enjoyment of your craft.

Gruff just came out!!! This guy did 2 years for 9 whole minutes of perfection, and honestly, being the sole animater of Gruff is impressive, it shows how hardworking someone can be after such a monumental loss. Gruff is also just a really detailed and awesome, and waiting 2 years for 9 minutes of Gruff perfection, its worth every second. 🥇 🥇 🥇
