This comment lacks understanding and compassion. She is a child and it is already difficult for a child to regulate their emotions as it is. Having to deal with the trauma of being raped while simultaneously not getting the proper support from your family and being made out to be a liar leads to deep emotional wounds and subsequently feelings of betrayal and anger. She probably felt she had to get herself through it and that there was no one in this world that was looking out for her or cared about her. Through that line of thinking it’s easy to lose respect for the adults in your life and that’s why the wall is built even if it’s at no fault of her brother’s.
