With the safety barriers it’s pretty much like driving the autobahn at night. And the autobahn has NO lighting! I’ve driven he autobahn at 180mph hundreds of times in my life and I really enjoy it, it’s very peaceful! But it’s also fun in the middle of the day when there are lots of cars around you and you find some other people who 2anna go quick and you have a little fun together. Nothing like 4-5 cars driving vmax for 20 miles without braking all while the right side has quite a lot of traffic! Fortunately the Germans are very strict drivers (or where, the new generation is really bad at driving because they unfortunately don’t care about cars anymore. That, and he’s out driving his headlights… his lights only cover a certain distance. His speed makes it appear to us that they’re not lighting the way very well. It would be interesting to see if his speed was “only” 100mph how much further you could see. It actually shouldn’t matter… the lights only cover a certain distance. In the car, his eyes are better adjusted to the decreased light so he can likely see somewhat better than we can in the video. Our eyes are probably much more sensitive than the camera.

In 50 years this Video will be an all Time Classic
This is the best driver's perspective camera i've ever seen, even better than the ones used in some official F1 videos. If you forget about the shaking it will even look like a very realistic videogame, this is amazing.

My last time at LeMans was 2017 for the 24hr proper with my son. We haven't been since because he had school exams each summer. 2021 looks uncertain regarding his A leval final exam timetable but this clip is whetting my appetite again - hopeful we can go and BOTH experience our 1st Classic LeMans togther. We have amassed a great collection of 935's in 1:43 but have never seen a real one under power (only in museum).

I love that you took your son. My dad passed this last April. I am 44 and I miss him so much it hurts. He took me to my first F1 race in 2000 when it came back to the US. God bless you for spending time with your son and creating those brilliant memories.
Fuck me, that was brutal. Manhandling such a beast in this darkness and leading the ultra light and nimble sports prototypes with cosworth F1 engines! Wow, amazing drive in a amazing powerful machine
I love the K3. Great video! Must be an honor to drive at Le Mans with a great car and at night!!

Incroyable, quelle atmosphère de course. C'est ça LE MANS. Juste magique ❤❤
A brilliant video! Its great to get that POV, especially at night. Thanks for uploading.
Sebring is very dark at night too, but Le Mans is way faster, especially on the long straights 😳

this is now on my bucket list
Gran Turismo 7 VR do be looking impressive. Joking aside, this was no walking pace, really good driving, even the prototypes couldn't keep up. Must be really cut on power those ones.
Unbelievable... I can watch these freaks of nature non stop. What talent 👏
This is so amazing. I’m thankful to have been able to witness Le Mans a few years ago, even driving on some of the roads before they were closed off. A highlight of my life. I love seeing things like this that remind me.
Amazing, my respect, this shows what great skills someone need to control such a beast at night in Le Mans!
Thank you for the video. This is fantastic. Love seeing that wheel getting worked, that Porsche is being given the beans. Love it!
This guy casually driving my dream on of my favorite tracks
This was extremely satisfying to watch, great driving!!!
It’s absolutely mesmerizing, words can’t describe what looking at this transmits into your soul.
Best God damn le mans video in a Porsche i have ever seen. Second only to McQueen in his 917.
I love 935s so much, beautiful vud
Amazing footage, really great to watch. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing how little these guys can actually see yet they've pinpoint precision positioning! Incredible.

This is just every racers best dream! That flat 6, those turbos, no electric gimmicks. Just you the car and a full tank.
Absolutely breathtaking

Now that's a satisfying sound, from start to end
That Porsche is an absolute beast of car.
I literally just lived those 5minutes❤❤
I found this video today, still amazing to see a helmet cam video so clean. It reminds me of Shift 2 Unleashed gaming at night at Silverstone or Circuit de la Sarthe. Just amazing.
Das nenn ich Fahrzeug Beherrschung...👍und die Kiste schiebt an...hätte mir nicht gedacht d er den anderen noch einholt so wie der am Anfang davon gefahren ist...🔥 Porsche Power💪
this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen
The sawing on the wheel while in turns is a clear indication that he’s hanging it all out.
Great to see these amazing cars aren't just destined to stay lifeless in a museum
everything about this clip just brings me joy
Completely beyond me how this is even possible 😮 Must have fabulous night vision. Btw, for anyone interested in driving may I recommend The Stigs book Man in The White Suit. LeMans gets a mention and in my humble opinion it's the best part of the book, fantastic stuff 🙂
Gunnar…this is single-handedly the most fucking awesome helmet cam video of all time. You truly deserve some sort of medal for this!

Drove this circuit so much in GT7, it's in my backbone.
4:59 Reminds me of driving on the road, if I pass someone, the guy I passed gets riled up and has to come after me and pass me. lol
Its horrifiying to know that normally your car will save you to some point if you make a small mistake, you make a small mistake in this thing it will eat you and spit you out as a fireball. Mad respect to the driver. Lad got some balls.
Awesome vid .
I love the car noise! 😊 Edited to add: I feel like the drivers are amazing athletes, controlling that much power. I've met a lot of drivers, and avoid their handshakes; they're STRONG! 😅
