well, a empty one is a as good as none.

Somehow, it saddens me to see this interior ruined by fire... All the little knicks and knacks of someone's life being destroyed... Hopefully, no one was hurt. And thank God for firefighters!...

I’m sorry But wtf this looked like one of the most disorganized fire teams I’ve ever witnessed. Ppl just standing around, going just you? Is that you? What? Huh? Uh.... like wow not even roof tapping for your foot placements your lucky u didn’t fall in to your death

It depends on the smoke, i think that if its white smoke its not needed since its moisture mostly but black smoke is needed

+Johnson L. Where in the hell did you learn that information? If you are proving ventilation attack on a building, any form of smoke is dangerous. Your information is wrong. Black smoke is almost always caused by the burning of petroleum based products. Highly toxic. Grey and white smoke is smoke nonetheless but it is coming from the wood and the roof shingles. This guy not wearing SCBA is an idiot and his captain should be horse-whipped. All smoke is unhealthy. Always wear SCBA. No exceptions.

Good video, but I can't get past the guy on the roof without his mask on. Roofs give way, things go wrong, off gasses cause cancer......That dude would never have made it near the roof in my dept.

This may be a volunteer fire department. If it is, this could explain the laxity in personal protective equipment, procedures, training, foreground communications, and fire ground command and control.

Volunteer firefighting is much more dangerous than paid firefighting because of the lack of training and the prevalence of improvisation and freelancing.

why is he ventilating the roofs upwind side?

I wonder if these construction workers know that the building they're working on is on fire.

This looks to be a Volly group. funny thing about PA is that its not a state requirement to have FF1 or FF2 to be a firefighter. its left up to the department chief who they want on their trucks.

Great video. Great work not gonna go off about the one roof guy without a mask because everyone else has. I'm starting to notice most departs use chainsaws my department uses k12 to cut and also being a axe up once that saw fails that axe is your second option.

Do you back up your attack line with a bucket of water? An axe is no second option to a saw, it is the last resort. The backup for a saw is a second saw!

+Adrian Hymer No excuse, if the low air alarm goes off, you evacuate the hot zone immediately and someone will replace you, or if their isn't the man power for someone to replace you, you run out of air, hop one the High Volume or 38 hose, take a seat and provide suppression away from the thick of it.

It really depends on location, if it's rural you may only be working along side volunteer's and departments are spread thin as it is, many times calling another department is not always a 100% guarantee. It just comes down to knowing the risks associated with not wearing SCBA.
