It is just stunning how popular Helltaker is. Even before I decided to give it a try, I'd seen a boatload of art of it, a lot of which is still doing well to convey the personality of the game. Will be interesting to see if anything more is done with it down the line.

I hope it gets some kind of iteration down the line. It really deserves its success.

I really enjoy the simple choices offered when approaching a demon. Makes it feel like you're a mythical pick-up-artist that can do no wrong. Pure Johnny Bravo

The curveball at the end is intentional as it doesn't show up in the level select and while it's difficult at a glance it becomes much simpler once you realise the patterns are preset and during the final phase as you can stand in the middle safely after the initial wave stops then take your time dodging the chains and kicking during the safe moments. Interestingly it makes sense for this type of game to be free as it is more suited to be merchandise driven so you jump on the free ride then support the creator if you enjoyed it and wish to fund more future endeavors towards sharply dressed demon girls.

I agree, but these kind of games, its flaw is also its plus, if it handhold the player with clear tutorial and hints, you won't feel as badass when you eventually solve it

i finally gave into youtube incessantly pushing me to watch some playthrough of this "build a harem of cute demon girls" game so much that i got kinda irritated. well, three weeks ago, i did give in. all i can say that it reminded me that a game does not have to be the a full blown out mind drainer to reach you audience. you can also have fun making it. something i keep forgetting, so i have vanripper to thank for that i guess. and thanks to you for making a completely objective good review of it.

Right now? Vanripper seems to be focused on comics of this game. Also, get the game, beat the secret ending, you can get the artbook. And with it? The recipe for the pancakes seen in the game.

I love the design in this game and I thought your review was very well structured. Helltaker was my game of the year in 2020, I just think its design is that tight

Huh, interesting little shuffle game. Reminds me of Crypt of the Necrodancer without the bombastic music. Seems somewhat my alley

under 5 views club. I enjoyed this game a lot more than I did and would love to have another like it or on a mobile device.

to be fair, you can skip any of the levels except for the final boss and epilogue

in my opinion this game is overated as fuck the only reason why this game is popular is the waifus i mean i would love to see what will hapening if there will be no deamon girls

most overrated game ive ever seen. the gameplay almost made me fall asleep, all the characters look the exact same, the game literally has nothing unique to it either
