Have you ever experienced culture or reverse culture shock?🥲

When I moved back to the US after living in Korea I experienced reverse culture shock . I felt like it was so loud and chaotic everywhere I went 😂

I did! Coming back from The Phillippines AND Korea, and returning to back home to Chicago! Though, I LOVED the culture and experience in Korea, being in The Phillippines is a whole lot diffrerent! There's a lot to do in Chicago all year round, but you get more to see during the sunmmertime!
I'm so happy you are able to see your friends and family 😊 It's always really wonderful to have the time with the ones you love.
OMG Chicago is so beautiful!!!! Love the fall vibes too🍁 I totally agree with the reverse culture shock of random people talking to you 😆 I am so used to minding my own business and not talking to anyone in Korea that when I go back home to Italy I am so shocked when strangers talk to me saying the most random things 😅
That’s hilarious about the Americans talking too much, but it’s so true!!🤣
Hey, Adrienne. I’m loving the relaxing fall vibe in this vlog hope you have a nice week 💕
So glad you are having such a nice time in the States. Enjoy and thanks for taking us along. ❤❤
I'm not even done watching yet but already wanted to say I loved that you put a Korean song in this video even though you're in the US!! I just loved the mood 🫶🏻
I am so happy you have been experiencing a great time so far 😊

Thank you so so much 💛🙏🏻
I told myself if I’m never able to move abroad, Chicago will be the city I move too. I go there multiple times a year, I absolutely LOVE that city.
My local coffee shop has a drink called sweater weather. It contains brown sugar cinnamon, short bread, and salted caramel. That may seem like too many flavors but it's delicious. Whenever I don't want a coffee my go to drink is matcha with white mocha.
I’ve never thought about wanting to visit Chicago until this video 😍 Another place to add to my travel list ✔️
I'm glad you got to enjoy Chicago, the architecture tour on the river is always great! Hope you got to enjoy our food too

Soooo so pretty! Thanks for watching
My favorite has always been peppermint mocha 🤤 I've just recently tried a pumpkin caramel something 😅 😅 I forgot the name. Tastes like pumpkin pie coffee ☕
Glad you were able to go home. Living abroad makes you appreciate where you grew up!

I love your earrings in this video❤
white chocolate mocha is the best ! :)
You had such pretty weather in Chicago! That isn't always the case, lol. I was born in Chicago and grew up in northwest suburbs, so I'm biased, but I think it's the best city.

Ahhh it was def SO cold and grey when I went there in December many years ago. So lucky this time tho!
Sweet tea in the afternoon, hot chocolate in the evening as fall temperatures vary during the day.

The only time I was in Chicago the weather was unusually warm for January so it was cold but sunny and great for travel.
Yes, been to Chicago many times... Not as much as I used to though... It's an easy trip from Minneapolis, Minnesota... I was there about a year ago...hadn't been in the longest... It was fun... Might need to start going on a weekend more often...

Carmel Mocchiato is my favorite. I always get it when I go to Starbucks; once in a while, it is the Carmel Frappuccino. What do you think about tipping? Are you used to tipping culture in America? 😊 💜
@adriennehilll

Ahhhh the tipping is always hard to get used to… I am always happy to tip for a nice meal out but It’s a bit overwhelming to be asked to tip on something like a cup of coffee that took them two seconds to pour🥲 very mixed opinions lol
Hii!! Adrienne I really really love your vlogs so so much and Keep up the amazing work like this💕😍🔥

How long were you in Korea?
I was born and raise in Chicago IL and I loved seeing this video makes me home sick.
I'm not a coffee drinker... But I have an insane love of hot cocoa... 🙃🥰
Are you like going to stay in Korea forever or what’s the move here? Seems like you just went for a short-ish work experience and have decided to make it your new home in Korea. Just curious as to what it is about Korea that’s kept you there so long!

Work, affordable cost of living and my relationship are some main things keeping me in Korea right now! def don’t wanna “grow old” in Korea but it’s such a good place for me rn 🤍🤍

@adriennehilll is it really true korea is more affordable to live than America? I know food is pretty cheap in korea. But I heard there is two ways of paying rent in korea one is put down A LOT (10k) of money down for rent but monthly is gets cheaper. Second is the normal way to pay rent but it's more expensive.
@adriennehilll

@@Js_Son83 my deposit was $4k and monthly rent $400 so yes to me that is very very affordable! But I live in busan which is much more affordable compared to seoul :) so my situation is def diff from others !
I'm from the UK and lived in Chicago for a year for work. I would have stayed if my visa hadn't run out.

My flight got to USA super late at night and I forced myself to stay up for the last several hours of the flight! So that way when I finally got home it was easy to sleep ❤️ also for my day 1 of the trip I never make any big plans si I can just take it easy and rest if u need to!
You're so hilarious that an American girl gets culture shocked coming back to america. You have officially become korean! Have a safe flight back to korea! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m from the east coast but i work on the west coast and they talk a lot there too so no disrespect to anyone in the comment section that is from the west coast but dang i be like be quiet 😅😅😅 being talkative is not my thing
Small talk. You are so right. Trader Joe's is my small talk beef 😏
“8th floor pls” 💀
I’d be afraid to walk around Chicago. I’d move out of that state the sooner the better

Culture shock in your own home country?! .. cmon ... thats literally your country and your culture before you became obsessed with kpop and korean culture.and dated a korean man...duhh......im not from your country, but your country is beautiful for me.. so be proud of it... im from a third world country..but i love my country than any other country despite the turmoil we are suffering here

She was just talking about a mild cultural difference and she is a blogger who seeks out such light issues to entertain or inform people. I find it strange that you take someone else's words so seriously. She was probably born in the United States and was an American for generations. She will love America more than you.
