    I just discovered the channel this week, and man, you really have it together. I've been looking far and wide for videos that break down difficult trails/obstacles step by step, and I found my spot. I'm tired of seeing beauty shots of trucks rolling over obstacles on other channels, just vanity with little instruction. Your channel is like the Master Class version! Keep up the amazing work.

I was watching some circle track videos where they slice up the whole track and thought that concept would be cool for videos like this. Someone made a comment on my last video to check out these videos and I loved them. Your rig will be perfect for Hell’s Gate! You have 37s???

    @@Colorado4x4 well just the explanations are worth everything because the other videos just talk about the trail. They don’t go over what you’re seeing or thinking and why a specific line is chosen based on vehicle and how they work differently. I think it will be really helpful to people especially when they are about to do, they will know exactly how to put their rig on the right line.

    Nice! You can hire a guide. I assume you will be driving your own rig? Most of the guide services are really just tours where you ride along with the guides in their Jeeps, but I bet they would do the same and guide you in your rig and they drive theirs. Try Dan Mick first. There is also Twisted Jeeps and Barlows that are good. Really, if you have some experience wheeling and do a little in Moab you shouldn’t need a guide. This video series should help you too. - Geoff

    It will help but still isn’t the same as lockers. The only time I’ve seen someone climb it without lockers is my buddy Camron and the clip is in this video. He has the silver JKU. He climbed it his first time ever without lockers so it can be done. I would just have a rig that you can hook on to if you need to pull cable. Remember to use that left foot brake technique - if you stop moving then keep pumping the brake with your left foot and it can really give you all that you need to keep moving - Geoff

    What trails or obstacles would you recommend I wait to try until I am not such a newbie in my two door JK with 3.5” MetalCloak GameChanger lift with 6 Pak shocks on 38/13.5/17 Patagonia M/T 02’s? I’ve wheeled Hidden Falls 2 times, Northwest OHV once, and Off Camber in Llano including Skyview twice. (All in Texas) I want to push myself a little, but not hang it out there too far that I take real safety risks on my first trip to Moab.

  • @Colorado4x4

    @Colorado4x4

    Жыл бұрын

    Howdy! We lived down in Fort Worth for a year in 2017 and we hit up that Northwest OHV park a bunch. I ended up breaking a rear axle shaft and taking out my Detroit locker on my 1993 YJ on some giant ledge. That is a cool place! We never did go to any other parks out there but I really wanted to go hit Hidden Falls, Katemcy Rocks and Wolf Caves. As far as Moab goes, I typically recommend people hit Baby Lion's back first and then go run Fins and Things. Fins and Things is such a great intro trail for Moab because it will get you used to wheeling on the Moab sandstone. You will get a feel and confidence in the amount of traction that you have on that type of terrain. After Fins and Things I think the next trail to hit is Hell's Revenge. The great thing about a lot of Moab trails is that you have optional lines on a lot of places on these trails so you can slowly push yourself and get more comfortable wheeling. After Fins and Things, the next trail I always recommend is Poison Spider Mesa. There are so many great trails out there, but this is my recommendation. - Geoff

  • @Colorado4x4

    @Colorado4x4

    2 жыл бұрын

    Oh man. Seat time, seat time. Just more experience wheeling on those rocks. It sucks because there probably isn’t many rocks where you’re at. I grew up in Tennessee and started wheeling right when I turned 16. It was mostly mudding (barf) but we would find some creeks with rocks that we would go test ourselves. Are there any offroad parks nearby? A lot of it has to do with the driver too. You can be a terrible driver with a ton of experience. You can be an excellent driver with little experience. Jerry in this video (FJ Cruiser) ran it on his first Moab trip and so did Todd in his F-150. If it’s your first time in Moab, warm up on some easier trails and see how you are feeling.
