HeliTrim - Flying X-Plane Helicopters with basic controls
Ойындар
Looking at the "HeliTrim" Plugin by POM, a plugin that works as a hardware compatibility layer to allow basic spring centred aeroplane joysticks to control helicopters effectively.
The download links:
HeliTrim : forums.x-plane.org/index.php?...
or: x-plane.to/file/331/helitrim
Bell 47G X-Plane 12 : forums.x-plane.org/index.php?...
Errors, Omissions, Clarifications:-
Clarifications: I'm an aeroplane pilot - I do know they are called anti-torque pedals, but I've probably said rudders a few times!
The fine print:
It shouldn't need to be said, but please remember these videos are for recreational simulation and entertainment purposes, not real world flight instruction.

Thank you so much, just what I was looking for, jumped in the default X Plane 12 Helicopter yesterday and it was pretty much a disaster! Thank you so much for taking the time to share. Amazing skills considering the limitations of your controllers. 😊
Thank you very much. It has been a long time since I have given helicopters a try. My previous attempts have always ended in frustration (and flames) so I had given up. A compromise for me has been the VSKYLABS Tensor gyrocopter. You are a very good teacher and I have really enjoyed your previous videos on the Ask 21, PT-19, and the SR-22. Your have given me the incentive to have another attempt at helicopters. Looking forward to more videos from you, they are much appreciated.
Omg hes back
So glad to see you back ... I’ve always stayed away from helicopters due to previous bad experience. I’m ready to give them another try now.
Good to see you back! I use the Dreamfoil Bell 407 which is excellent. Good luck with your future videos.
Hello Captain. You may remember my comments(used to be "the art of chill"). I just posted a video I've been working on for 3 months and I gave you a shoutout. Love your videos and streams. All the best to you, Captain!

Hey, thanks for the shout out - I'm back! - no additional Tu154 content planned though ;-)
THERE are helicopters that do have trim. For example the Bo 105, BK 117 but also the Huges 269. They have a head button on top of the stick. The Huges works with two small motors. If your level is flying, but you have to use force (for example) to keep the stick moving forward. Then press the Head button slightly forward. The motors then ensure that the forces are removed from the stick and support the pilot. Then it is easy to fly with two fingers. That also sounds very similar to what you describe. The trim does indeed work differently than with fixed wing aircraft
Nicely done and your efforts are greatly appreciated. I am a novice helicopter simulator operator with zero real world helicopter flight experience so all very useful info.

Thanks. Yes I enjoy playing with helicopters in the sim too, but have basically no real helicopter time. Helitrim has made a real difference with my basic hardware.
Good to see your back Sir.
Welcome back
Nice! More helicopter stuff please :)
Hi Graeme, thanks for the video! Whats your take on XP12?

Sorry for the delay replying - XP12 is getting better, it's been frustrating and there are still a few issues with it, but I think we've finally got to the point it's a better sim that XP11 was.
Great! Will this work on XP11 too?

Yes indeed, I have the HeliTrim reset bound on my joystick too so I remember to reset before each takeoff.

@@ReflectedRealitySimulations btw, can you assign more than one command to a joystick button? I had the idea to combine "deactivate park brake" and "helitrim reset"...

You are not sure what you are talking about maybe Wright or wrong.
