    Waschbrettbauch is literally a washboardstomach. Just like the washboards mostly women used to have before the washing mashing. Splitterfasernackt i have absolutely no translation for. A Splitter literally is a splinter. Faser is like fibre. And Nackt is just naked. Whoever came up with "splinterfibrenaked" must have been really drunk. And a Backpfeiffengesicht is just, i would say, a darn ugly face you just wanna slap. A Backpfeiffe is a slap with the bare hand in the face. It's just like the german version of "puchface". Hope i could help a little bit

    @@Chiara0hdl But we also need the literal translation for Backpfeife. "Back" is short for "Backe" what means cheek in english and "pfeife" would be whistle, so cheekwhistle or completed with "gesicht" cheekwhistleface.

    The term "splitterfasernackt" is a contamination of the terms "splitternackt" and "fasernackt", which have been used at least since the mid ages to refer to a felled tree, that has been freed from it's sapwood (Splintholz/Splitterholz), which is the soft, moist wood between the bark and the heartwood. The latter being preferred for woodwork.

  • @MisterBenne

    @MisterBenne

    @@Chiara0hdl I would rather discribe Splitterfasernackt as entire fibre(less) naked. Add: Backpfeife means slap with flat hand in face (more on the cheek), Gesicht simply means face. waschbrettbauch already mentioned correctly. In USA you would say: sixpack. Which we used to say either.

Germans just use the lower voice register. Anyways don’t you think that it’s okay to adjust a little? I mean you don’t talk to your grandma the way you would talk to your boyfriend right?
