Great kata Heian Nidan, front knife hand strike pops up a second time in Heian Sandan. Like everything in Shotokan Karate in particular by practicing and maintaining each kata especially for your next grading and beyond is a great way to make firm progress. We can't stress this enough but whenever you're finding it difficult to keep track of each kata step by step to learn simply by breaking it down into segments that is easier for you to learn and perfect at your own pace. These segments when broken down come in really handy when learning in order to compile even for the more challenging of Kata's and even right upto the 3 Kata's at a time especially whenever you're going for your 1st Dan black and beyond! Yami!

Same here. I think I managed to get to Sandan but I failed because “I forgot to slide properly on my back legs on the last 2 moves.

@@miyu_myu21 that's awesome man. At my current dojo (which is Hawaiian Kenpo), given my experience I was given the option to move up another rank after white but I just didn't take it.

Les recomiendo un libro a todos los que seáis káratekas.... - KÁRATE - DO ( el camino de la mano vacía) Un libro fundamental, con algunas ilustraciones inmejorables) Alguno habéis hecho cumite desde seisa De rodillas si. Con patadas de tipo ura mawasi geri, pero de rodillas en seisa con oponente de seisa también, este libro trae ilustraciones de 70 años praticando este modo de kumite. Tuve un maestro que media unos 170 cts, el techo estaba a unos 3 metros del dojo.. Pues con un salto sin carrerilla llegaba con un mae geri, realmente increíble.

Can I ask about the movement you do before you turn and make the first reverse Uchi Uke... Your right hand comes quite far back, which is how I do this as well, but why does it come back quite so high as this? Alot of people have a much shortened version. Just curious.
