I was a S&W for almost 40 years and decided to try something new and purchased a VP9 about 9 months ago. It was love at first shot. HK has blown me away with there quality, ergonomics and accuracy. I am considering a VP 9 match. I'm also waiting for the HK sfp9cc micro 9 to become available in the US soon.

The x300 looks great on that and I totally agree on that I think it often makes guns way bigger than they need to be but here it fits perfect.

I exchanged the trigger on my VP9L to the Lobos trigger and it makes a big difference plus its metal. Love my Vp9/VP9L.

I have a zVP9 Match. Why didn’t it come with the “match” parts? I’m a little pissed I’m supposed to upgrade my Match to “match.”

The springs were considered too light for US Commercial weapons.

Great video! I just wish it was legal in competition. It would be great in USPSA and IPSC but the barrel length must not be longer than 5.0in and the magazines can't be longer than 140mm. So the factory 20rd mags can only be used in open division. So if you have any pull with HK please get them to revise this pistol to fit the rules for production optics division. I would buy one in a heartbeat then.

So the VP9 L is shorter than the VP9 Match? I know that you can use the VP9L slide on the normal VP9. Can you use the VP9 match slide on the standard VP9 ? like on the 4.1 inch full size version.

Yes, the Match slide will fit on the VP9 receiver and H&K has offered a Match slide assembly for that very reason.

That’s the best part, you don’t. Just kidding. It involves finding them in Germany and then having them imported. The challenge makes it all worth it in the end.

Unfortunately, it and the other parts shown are not available through H&K USA.

I got the vp9L slide kit came with red RSA, however can’t really find the round count life of the RSA, also can’t find a replacement red/blue RSA spring anywhere for replacement. All I can find is the Gen 2 silver RSA for both the 9 and 40 VPs. Any advice on this?? Thanks!

Yes, H&K offers L and Match slide assemblies for that reason.

Been trying to determine the diff btw the Match and the Long Slide versions - could these same upgrades you detail here also be made to the Long slide? would I then basically have a SFP9match? thanks!

The L is the same pistol, just with a slightly shorter slide and barrel. The parts I installed are compatible with any VP9 series pistol. The magwell will not fit on the SK though.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the barrel on a HK VP9 Match isn’t ported. Then why have the port cuts on the top, specially when it already has the lightening cuts? My Walther PPQ Q5 Match is the same: “ported” slide but doesn’t come with a ported barrel. I actually prefer this, since a ported barrel will either be prohibited in most competitions or kick you to Open Division. I rather have a threaded barrel that gives me the option of running a compensator or not (or a suppressor). The ports can be a pain to clean too.

No porting in the barrel to keep accuracy and prevent prohibition for competition. Removal of material in the slide is to keep overall mass where it needs to be for proper function, especially at lower power levels of ammunition.

Where can I find that magwell? I can't find it online... I'll never understand why the vp9 guns come with a "flared-inward" magwell. Makes reloads suck!

For years, I have been running the OSH holsters from G-Code. They are open on the end, so I can use them with any VP9 model. They also offer it for the X300, which makes it perfect for this set up.

H&K no longer offers the 15 round mags, upgrading them to 17 round capacity. The Match comes with the longer 20 round mags.

Got it - my first Porsche was a 1984 944 in guards red. Maybe that clouded my recall. Currently it’s a 991.2 4s. Anyway - seems we both enjoy Porsches and HKs! Thanks again for the content - I especially appreciate the long-form detailed information. @@teufelshundtactical
