    Miku actually speaks English quite well in real life and Saiki speaks enough to get by. They clearly understand the questions in English and Miku was correcting the translator while trying not to embarrass him.

    Miku clearly understood the questions. Creating a new sentence in a foreign language is hard, even when you know what you want to say. Especially Japanese -> English. I'll give her all the slack she wants. She's more courageous than almost anybody else.

    From Japan The translator conveyed the gist of the question in the fewest words. I think both answered well. Not handing over the microphone is a common practice in Japan to prevent infection. I was worried about talking nearby without a mask. I'm sure he's not infected. I hope that none of the members will be infected during this month. It was good to see the faces of Kobato and Saiki answering the question.

    Thanks for the interview. Good questions! But as everyone says in comments, I see that the interpreter is not a professional, just like a buddy doing translation. But it's not his fault at all. BM deserves a good interpreter touring with them if they want to have more press interviews. Like Ippei, who dose not say anything extra that was not spoken by Shohei Ohtani of Angels.

    The interpreter translated the interviewer's questions by omitting them considerably, which led to the wrong meaning. But Miku understood the question in English, so she gave the right answer. But the interpreter again failed to accurately translate Miku's reply. Oh, my God.😱 Perhaps Maidiac, who is fluent in both English and Japanese, will translate it accurately and upload it. Japan is Kpop's #2 market and with Jpop dominate the music market in Japan. BUT the Rock/Metal bands are popular but in general perform in smaller venues. Babymetal broke internationally in 2014 and Band Maid broke in 2015. Together they created the international audience for the Japanese Bands through KZread.

    I don't know what your purpose is, but I find it strange and rude that sometimes people write about K-pop in the comments section of J-Rock related videos and write that K-pop is more popular than J-Rock. In Japan, people who like K-pop are a specific few. In Japan, K-pop is advertised as very popular in the US and the world. In a Korean newspaper (Japanese translation), it was written that K-pop was in the red in Japan until the year before last. The cost of advertising was more than the sales. I have never seen K-pop in the top 100 (100 most popular songs) of the overall karaoke ranking. Many Japanese people would not be able to sing K-pop songs if asked to do so. There is a very small percentage of people who can sing K-pop.

    Жыл бұрын

    @@outwest1014 it sells out just like countless jpop and jrock bands did before it and still do, kpop isn't that special. The other commenter is right, most japanese people don't sing kpop stuff or know their lyrics or care to try to sing them in karaokes, they are not that popular for japanese people but kpop labels pour tons of money to promote themselves in Japan since it has and is the biggest music industry in Asia and second in the world. Some kpop bands are popular worldwide like BTS and Twice and obviously they would be known in Japan but almost all other bands are only known to a niche fanbase, kpop like idol groups are very known to have obsessive fans that stream their music non-stop and buy it multiple times to artificially pump up the ratings and it gives the illusion they are popular when that's not necessarly true

  • @cateve3757

    @cateve3757

    Жыл бұрын

    @@outwest1014 Specifically, do your own research. There seem to be many ways to do this. To explain a little more simply, if there is a K-pop concert performance in Japan, the audience is not all Japanese. Tickets for the Tokyo Dome are bought by some fans and fans coming from outside of Japan (countries close to Japan). Also, since Tokyo Dome and Budokan are not all seats in the auditorium, tickets are usually sold out if the group is extremely popular. Sometimes they advertise that they are sold out even if they are not. When you come to Japan, ask a few Japanese people walking down the street if they can sing K-pop karaoke. If K-pop rules Japan as you write, then most Japanese should be able to sing K-pop, right? My point to you is that you should also stop going out of your way to write about K-pop that has nothing to do with J-rock in the comments section of J-rock videos and rudely write that "K-pop is more popular than J-rock". You don't seem to know this, but there are many Japanese rock bands that play concerts at the Tokyo Dome. By the way, I neither like nor dislike K-POP.

    Shouldn't the translator be able to speak English? He's terrible. The interviewer should be holding the mic up to Miku and Saiki when they speak as well.

    It's unlikely that a small channel like this would be able to travel with a translator for one interview (Saki of Nemophila speaks English). They probably did the best with what they could, possibly a member of Band-Maid's crew? Anyway, I'm grateful they had a go at it.

    This interpreter is terrible. The interviewer had better ask someone who speaks Japanese properly to check what Miku said.
