As a 38 yrs industry experienced panel beater over here in the west i could not or should i say WOULD NOT be allowed to even attempt that 'repair'...even a dead person would not be allowed to ride in it if you did. Having said that i have nothing but respect and am in awe at this 'reincarnation'

I’m pretty sure they’ve never heard of the saying “safety first” over there, lol. I’ve spent some time in Iraq and these accidents were common place, the roads are like the Wild West, lanes, traffic lights, signaling, load limits are all suggestions to them, they always say “God willing, we’ll make it.”. Human life means virtually nothing, they’ll cry for a few hours after a guy is dead or if the camera’s rolling but after that, it’s life as usual. This is a big reason behind the high birth rate but, when an entire country marries their first cousin and often a sibling, it’s tough for them to get out of the stone age when they have an IQ of a houseplant. Sad.

Metall loses it's strength after it has been bent, crashing with this again is like crashing with a cabin made out of paper. Looks good but i would not want to crash that again. There is a reason why we change the metall after crashes, not becus it's an easier job, but becus of the lost strenght.

Back in the '60s, I hung out at a small service station where the owner did this exact work, he bought totaled vehicles and repaired them as he had time, he was not an autobody shop. Another buddy did the same thing at his home, after work. Take and cut all the spot welds repair each piece then tack it all back together, they both even used self-taping Sheetmetal screws to temporarily fit things back up. Once everything was fitted the screws were either removed or ground down flush, they both used lead too no Bondo.

I know many people would really Frown at what these guys are doing with the type of repair thats going on but with the tools they have to work with they are really awesome they don't have the Luxury of a new shop with the latest tools to work with but look at the end result truly amazing where her with the best equipment the job is not the best result on repair i take my hat off to these guys for there hard work
met with an accident? that's an understatement. Id be surprised if the driver survived with such extensive damage..

A lot if times when things start to go wrong, the driver jumps off the truck.

From 1 broken truck they made 2 brand new trucks, unbelievable! 😁
Знаю как у меня товарищ , перед нанесением шпаклёвки проходит шкуркой ! Делает насечки !!! Чтоб он прицепился к чему нибудь ! А тут все не надолго ! И перед покраской не обезжиривают .

I noticed that myself but given their climate it will probably last another 10 years, in western europe that thing would be bubbles galore within 12 months. That said it is talented work that they do repairing these things which makes it all the more frustrating they don't spend a little extra time and money treating the rust.
It is just amazing how something so destroyed could be made whole again. Great job

These trucks are overloaded, poorly maintained and haphazardly repaired after severely being damaged where death usually occured... Why do they all look like they ran into brick walls at 80 miles an hour???

Overloaded, yes, poorly maintained, yes, haphazardly repaired, i wouldn't classify it that way, given the resources they have available to them..... in fact, I'd say they do excellent work.....
I took my guitar in to the shop for a new nut and a fret repair. I'm now in week 3 and it's still not ready. These guys repaired a freaking truck in... What? Three days? 👍

To me this (at 24:40) doesn't look like brazing but rather like oxy-fuel welding. Or do you mean something else?

I don't care about the quality of the work, or how those men went about making repairs, I'm just really happy all those guys have a job and are able to provide for their families. Gainful employment is a good thing, no matter what.

Amazing ingenuity with very limited resources. Too bad young people in the US today don't have this ability to think. Too many have the work ethic that if they sweat, get their hair messed up or get their hands dirty they won't do it. They'd rather stare into their phone screen or computer monitor. SAD As a retired teacher that retired after 50 years teaching voc ed (among a pletheral of other courses) these guys have my respect

the filler over the rusty parts is the least problematic part of the repair..

I don't about making things better but they do work with what they have at hand just not as strong a truck as it was before different standards and economic
Deberían contar con una mesa de trabajo y no realizarlo en el suelo, valoro el esfuerzo, pero este debe ser optimizado con el uso de herramientas tecnológicas, debería utilizarse implementos de protección contra agentes químicos que provienen del uso de pinturas y otro anexos.

How did you manage to make the cabin look so good again? I can hardly believe it, but I've seen it with my own eyes. In Germany, it would be considered scrap and treated as such.
