Heaven-Sent Barber Cuts My Autistic Son's Hair Goes Viral (Original Video)
I was so moved by the patience and care provided to my son, and I decided to record. I had no idea that the video would go viral or so many parents of kids on the spectrum would reach out to me to share their stories. Our barber, Ree, has been a blessing to our family since we moved back to GA. Getting haircuts can be scary and even traumatizing for someone diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She nurtured this relationship and gained his trust. Haircuts are still scary for Jack-Jack, but we try to make it as comfortable as possible, and we NEVER force him to get a cut.

I work with kids on the spectrum in a group home stetting. It’s getting better with more awareness but, all too often people don’t know how to interact or feel comfortable with our kids. Haircuts can be especially tricky for some. I love seeing things like this and people like her. She did a great job and I hope she’s able to work with and help more kids with ASD and other cognitive disabilities feel more comfortable getting a haircut.

I'm so glad people are wanting to learn more about autism and have a better understanding. Ree has several clients on the spectrum but she really does treat everyone with the same level of respect and kindness.

My 1st Son Autistic Son When he was younger He had a hard time at The local barber shops When Me and My mom took him there.The barber was patient. I Appreciated that. My 1st Autistic Son is Grown Now but He's Still Very hyper active and full of energy. that won't change.
