I’ve never tried vinyl and am a bit intimidated. I bought some vinyl at the Dollar Tree to practice on before using my Cricut brand. After watching this video, I feel confident to now try the vinyl (and I now know how to use the tools, too). Thank you, Angie!

I have not had great luck with the Dollar Tree vinyl but I do need to try it again and see if I can get it to work! That being said, I think the Dollar Tree version is just adhesive vinyl for things like glass and wood. I am not sure if they have HTV for fabric.

Same process would apply. I would use an iron on product that has a low temperature and low time so you don't heat the binder too much.

OMGoodness! Finding your channel is a gift to be sure. Having come from old school silk-screening then on to the light bulb transfer silk-screening including hand drawn with permanent ink pens I am off to re-school myself about heat transfer/iron-on approach for t-shirts! I have the designs and 20 t-shirts for family yet had no clue about heat transfer aka iron-on how tos; products; equipment. My very first old school silk screening [chemicals et al] was going to the library AFTER I took an order of 50 T-Shirts for a bowling league. HAH! Well, I am old now [and just a bit wiser - LOL] and figured I could watch You Tubes. Not so fast. There are many to choose from to be sure yet find these to be distracting, confusing and completely frustrating. I sat down today which in itself is a challenge as I prefer to be on the move refusing to leave the computer until I figured this project out! After all, the grandkiddies are growing and the shirts already purchased. Truthfully, I was on the verge of tears and I am a tough old bird yet still hung in there and then I FOUND YOU!!!! Angie Holden you are a gifted teacher and I hope you go far. THANK YOU. I will continue on in spite of myself yet because of YOU and send these gifts, hopefully, soon!!! to all my grown children, grandchildren and recently a great-grandchild knowing I had the best teacher to guide and encourage me. Yes, I suppose a bit over the top for a You Tube comment still do know that you have assisted me in more ways than you can know. Oh, I will continue to research but will ask this question here first regarding printer ink. Do you use a particular ink such as Pigment Based vs. Dye Based Ink for T-Shirts? Via all my reading and wondering about all the aspects of this project I came across this ink issue having not a clue there would be one. AGAIN THANKS A MILLION. GOD BLESS YOU.

Yay! So glad you found us! So, with heat transfer vinyl you do not need ink. With sublimation, you do. But it is a special ink and a special printer. So not your standard printer. I hope that makes sense?

@@AngieHolden Greetings, Angie! Hope you enjoy this one. After watching one of your videos this all clicked yesterday. ( ; A month ago I picked up a pack of Avery Inkjet Printable Fabric Transfer and this began me digging into this incredible journey of HTV; Sublimation and Inkjet Fabric Transfer. Phew! LOL. In truth, I was in a Hobby Lobby for the first time this summer while waiting for an appointment and found myself in the wonderfully colorful paper, rolls and these curious things called Cricut. I waited to speak with a salesperson and now after furthering my research I can now appreciate her expression at my queries......ok, ok,ok. Not to take up your time and thought I now do understand the different approaches to Creative Expressions via t-shirts etc!! I am in the process of deciding how I am going to accomplish the goal of getting T-Shirts made and sent to everyone. I do not have any equipment to date and when I finally decide I will for sure use your links in order to support your efforts and talents. THANK YOU. Again. This stated do you have any knowledge about Inkjet Transfers and the inks best suited for printer ink. Now I just need to know. The mental ticker tapes will keep a-whirring until I learn about this. It ain't easy being me. I will continue on in learning from your You Tubes as your techniques come through. ALL THE BEST.

Oh yes! Of course! If you have an ink jet printer, make sure the transfer you buy is marked for ink jet. Laser jet should be marked for laser jet. That is about it! You will want to follow the instructions exactly and really press down when ironing. I usually do mine on the floor so I can put my weight on it. I hope that helps!

New to Cricut but learned so much form your video here. Can you use this as a way to put your logo / graphics onto say a golf shirt, in lieu of getting them embroidered? If so a downside would seem to be I'm restricted to the vynle color selections and not the actual colors of the logo? Correct? Looking for potential applications here. Thanks

Thanks for this video. It was very helpful. I am wanting to attach names to hearts cut out of cotton fabric. These hearts then are sewn onto a dog bandana. I've had trouble getting the letters to stick to the cotton hearts. Does your method work on cotton scraps the same as T-shirts. I don't see any htv being added to non t-shirt cotton projects like mine. Thanks.
