Getting lost in space seems super eerie and unsettling. Would be kind of interesting to know where lost cosmonauts could end up in a few million years tho.
@Thatguywiththelaptop
Жыл бұрын
In reality if you're lost in low Earth orbit you won't last long. In a few months to years the occasional collisions with air particles will slow you until you re enter the atmosphere.
Also, if you listen closely to the alleged recording of the lost soviet cosmonaut, you can distinctly hear, independent from the translation, a somewhat thick italian accent. Russian, although well pronounced, doesn't have that kind of inflection with so much stress at the last word, as you can notice when she is talking about flames. As far as I've read, their sister Teresa is the most likely candidate as the voice in the recordings, as she was studying russian at the time. Sorry if I made any mistakes, english is not my first language 😷

There are regional accents, and the USSR covered a LOT of territory. Not to mention defectors from Mussolini’s crap. I would think about that, as well as any hoax theory, for balanced investigation. If you want truth, you have to investigate all possibilities. For instance, there is a radio phenomenon, well known to Citizens Band Radio enthusiasts/users called “skip”. Radio transmissions can be received from extended distances temporarily; the radio waves bounce between cloud layers and travel farther than normal before hitting ground receivers.

Don't want to admit it, but i know russian very well. Your translation timing was absolutely on point. Also the actual audio is very chilling, indeed she says all that things with clearly defined soviet-era russian accent. If this is to be faked someone had to find a voice actor that was very good and also hated USSR. So that narrows it down quite a bit.

@@Omni601 huh weird. I posted a response comment but I think it got deleted cos I had pasted a link (for the source I was referring to). Anyways basically what I said is that the brothers had a sister called Maria. She began learning Russian to help translate russian transmissions/radio, and eventually became fluent. Source is aerospaceweb (I can't paste links cos youtube thinks I'm a bot and will take it down). Also the original comment I was responding to contradicts most statements by russian speakers, and even russians themselves, who claim that the accent does NOT sound russian at all. There is so much evidence against this that I seriously can't see how people still believe it.

@@abrahamlovegrove8138 bruh. they didn't even state their stance, they just wanted evidence. They just wanted to see evidence before believing something, insulting them for "blindly following a video with no sources whatsoever" does not make sense when they didn't really specify their stance. From the context of their message you can assume they are believing the video over the comment, but they could easily just be trying to come to a more educated conclusion on the topic, you don't know and you don't need to be rude about it.

I love your writing and editing style! This is one of the best video essays I’ve seen. Also, great job including your errata in the description. I’m glad your branched out your content!
I really appreciate showing every side of the story. I'm used to people releasing videos like this and fixating on either the mystery or debunking it, while you showed both in equal measure and even went more into the history of the brothers and how, in spite of the controversy, they went on to be highly respected and successful in adjacent fields.
This was really cool! I had heard about some of this stuff, but I had no idea it went so deep!
i'd really like you to explore topics such as these for the dive vids. please do more. loved them
Honestly, I'd think the Soviets messing with them is a more valid explanation. They were mildly popular, they had contacts in Moscow, and they garnered some international attention. If you wanted to obfuscate what you were actually doing, what better way than for small "independent" players to claim things. Even "failed" missions would lead to technical prestige being associated with it. It provides top cover if your own missions fail as "more crazy rants" if you need to. And it wouldn't require a large or sophisticated effort, just some weak equipment nearby and a few people to mess with them
