I really like that the finish isn't perfect, it really tells a story. How many people have sat on that chair? rocked the baby, cuddled a cat, read a book, drank a cup of tea in it? The cats seem very impressed! ❤❤❤

You have received the best response to your chair from the cats! They love it, so it's "Cat Approved". I love it too. It turned out beautifully! Everything you do is amazing, and I would definitely watch all 6 hours of any video that you would make! 20 minutes is just too short. Your voice is so soothing, and your interactions with those beautiful cats make me smile. I am a cat slave for my two girls. Three others have passed in the last three years. I miss them dearly.

Jay, I agree with you on the shellac (it's hard AND easy). But, you 'can' dab a bit of denatured alcohol on the drip and rub it gently with a cotton swab if you want to get it before it's totally dry. It won't (or will be LESS likely) to leave a mark. 😀

It was so nice to see the kids loving on your handiwork. They definitely put on their stamp of approval 🤓

The final results section really got me this time. In the garden with the blanket, it felt like it had a whole story behind it. I personally was picturing a elderly Victorian woman reading a book quietly in her garden.

Thank you, love that you used your homemade shellac as the finish on the old rocker. It suited it perfectly. It’s a very pretty, but practical looking chair. Enjoyed seeing your kitty neighbours checking out the new scent at the end, so typical. ❤🐈‍⬛🐈.

The chair has come to life again, I love the blonde colour, it has warmth and softness. I love that you have cat breaks although dogs and cats do like to supervise any activity😄.❤

I love rocking chairs and this one came out beautifully! Like you, I think the coloration of the seat adds to the character. I am sure my 2 cats would like it as much as your feline friends. One of my cats has claimed my rocker as hers and there is no added cushion, she just likes it.

This was a nice job on this old rocker. You're very talented at fixing furniture boo boos. 😅 Please don't think the kitties are using you as an excuse to get treats. Sometimes it is difficult to let someone scratch your belly until you can trust them! 😂 Super job made to look easy. Great work! ❤

Every time I see the cats on the videos I want to comment on how beautiful they are... And today I just had to! They're so majestic, they're like "model" cats lol. And so nice to see that Hugo lets you rub his belly, that's not common on cats! He must really like/trust you. Loved the chair as well! Hugs!

Sanding is becoming your middle name, but here's another beautiful result. (It was even awarded the cat seal of approval, a comfortable chair's highest accolade. :-) )

I love that you didn't stain it but kept the wonderful grain.

I must admit that going back through previous video's that this one would have to be my favourite. I love rocky chairs, they're such an underrated piece of furniture and super sleek and it certainly warmed my heart to see this one restored to its former glory. And even the neighbourhood felines agree that it's good. 😍❤👍

The chair turned out incredibly beautiful. I always learn something from watching your videos- like where Shellac comes from! Haha. 😂 My favorite part of every video is to watch you with the kitties. Literally, I think you are their owners! I lost a cat this July. He loved everyone! He played with the neighbor kids, visited my older neighbors and was just simply liked by all. I was touched to see how many of our neighbors actually helped us search as he was missing. They all felt like he was also their cat. We eventually did find his body, and the neighbors have all mourned with us. It’s amazing to have had a cat as special as him. These cats seem so similar. And you are so kind and patient with them. I wish the entire world could be like you when dealing with other peoples pets. Thanks so much for sharing so much with us. I look Forward to your videos every week!

Reminds me of a couple of chairs from my grandfather’s waiting room at his dental office (well before 1942). They were not rockers though. I wish I had had a little sandblaster when I tried to rehab them. All I could do was paint them. Very good show.

Another beautiful result. Never saw that trick of using compressed air to push glue into a joint. Always learning new ideas from your videos.

Aside from thoroughly enjoying seeing your creations and refurbishing of old furniture.. i gotta say, your voice is very soothing to listen to.. Thank you for all you do. 😊

@FlippingDrawers The fact that neighbour cats come to you for attention and that you are a health care worker...you must have an amazing heart! You seem to have a natural feel for the restoration...so glad I can learn more from you! As always thanks for the lesson. I watch alot of videos to learn. There's a furniture restoration guy in the states that worked on a similar chair. He drills out the wedges that holds the spindles in place from underneath. Then uses a spreading bar clamp instead of a rubber mallet to help remove the arms and spindles...hope this information helps you too. He said the process makes it easier with less breakage. Pat all the furbabies for me please

I have my Great Grandfathers chair in much the same condition yours started in. Can't find anyone wanting to take on the project so clearly I will need to do it myself. Now I have an idea how to do that. Thank you!

I loved all the sanding jokes! Been there, sanded that. I’ve become a fan of shellac to prevent blotching on woods like poplar before I stain. The chair is lovely!

Beautiful. It’s amazing the amount of work that you put into that chair and condensed into a 15 or 20 minute video. The kitties seem to love it as well!

The humorous cards....2000 years later... are all I care to see of hours of sanding. I also don't need to see you get out your tools, set up your cameras or clean your shop when you are done. And as someone who is not a cat fan I enjoy the little fur ball visits, they are not excessive. You edit your show down to all the interesting bits and they are not too long or too short.

Its nice to see someone mixing schellac. No measuring needed. Is just so easy. From my experience never apply with a brush, just keep wiping with a damp pad. As many coats you like it will never run or drip. After 10 or more light swipes of a just damp pad it will develop a deep shine
