Heart w/Roger Fisher backstage+Crazy On You 1978

Backstage footage from the opening night of the Dog and Butterfly tour. Alas it was to be the last tour (and album) with the incredible Roger Fisher. This is the REAL Heart, kids. Here is a link to view an excellent tutorial on Crazy On You on Roger's channel: • CrazyOnYou BEYOND GUIT...

Great song. As I posted to it: And this is why after Roger and the other guys left I lost interest in Heart. As great as Ann and Nancy were and are, under their rule they turned the guys' band into an embarrassing big hair power ballad pop band with elevator muzak written by other people instead of the great straight ahead rock 'n' roll band it started out as. Ann's ego especially was too big for her size XXX spandex. I lost interest after the first three albums. Great song ya just put out Rog 'n' company.

@@rasputinsliver9092 no need to body shame. You can be angry for sure, and miss the original line up which was an amazing group of musicians, but body shaming isn't necessary. Those big hair power ballads were more forced upon the sisters, according to the book Kicking and Dreaming, a Story of Heart Soul and Rock n Roll. Comments made by fans and reporters caused Ann much anxiety and led to stage fright. No fun for her I'm sure. No matter what they achieved or how brilliantly Ann sang, it was her body they focused on. Not fair nor right.

Yeah, they're such "bosses", they ruined the band we just saw because they can't control their emotions and separate them from business. Fleetwood Mac had two couples break up as well, and then they wrote "Rumors" and made themselves quadrillionaires. The Wilsons have immense talent, but they also have egos to match.

On top of the fact that alot of "today's productions" are stolen and sampled riffs&actual parts of songs or redone covers of music from our generation...we must of done it right back then,or musicians imaginations have died.... Yup we had it better will real bands, original music and increadable musicians... Remember Steve Howe,Kerry, Ross Valliere,Randy Rhodes,Jim Morrison...hell Janice,Jimmy,Joe Coker,All of them,I can't begin to even think of a list of the Legendary guys in our Day the ones todays musicians try to emulate...

The girls were great. I don’t think they realized how important the original guys were to the sound of the band.

Pretty sure they continue to this day to not realize or acknowledge that fact, unfortunately. Pisses me off. They did not start Heart, they joined it already in progress. The talent and chemistry of all of them led to that extreme success. Through a series of circumstances the girls ended up virtually taking over the band and riding the success of the name Heart, eventually being the only original members left. If you look at the solo stuff A and N have done--including the Lovemongers-- none of it remotely reached anywhere near the success of stuff they've done as Heart. I have always been a fan of and loved the girls, being somewhat a musician myself, but their seeming refusal to get over a 40-year grudge and do any kind of reunion (other than RRHOF) has left me deeply disappointed in them. Check my community post from this morning...I shared a video clip from Roger Fisher he just put out, a recent interview where he gets visibly choked up talking about what Heart could have been. He's owned up to his mistakes and learned an incredibly difficult lesson and clearly mourns for what could have been. I do too. Sorry, didn't mean to go on so but it strikes a nerve! Thanks for your comment ~~Katerina

They got plenty of recognition and caused a lot of riffs. If you don't know their names, you don't rock and roll.

The first line up was something special. The music the Wilson's made in the 1980s was good on its own terms but it can't compare to those first three records.

Exactly. First four records actually, with that lineup...Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen, Magazine and Dog and Butterfly. Magazine was an unauthorized release by the record company but I was blissfully unaware of any problem with it...loved it anyway 😄 Got to see them in Feb '79 right up at the stage, before all the crap went down with Roger in October and he left the band. Treasured memory...Nancy inspired me to pick up guitar right after that and I'm still at it! 😊 Thanks for your comment! ~~Katerina

First concert was Summer Sunday 77... Seattle's Memorial Statium... 78 they sold out Seattle Center Coliseum 3 nights in a row! I got to see (getting crushed and loving every second of it! Right in front of Roger) The New Year Eve show and what an incredible night it was! So curious as if my memory is right...looks how I remember the Dog and Butterfly stage? and that would have been those shows... is this Seattle?...love to know 🙏

I saw them twice back with the original line Through 1975 Heart was living-playing all the time in Vancouver and through-out Canada. Blah-blah. Also, Dreamboat Annie was released in Canada in 1975! In the states '76. So, while I enjoyed the Show in 1978 in Vancouver, the Canadians I stood near (festival seating) and spoke to, seemed unimpressed. In fact Mistral Wind which I guess is a lot of folk's favorite ,was singled out for abuse! I think Canadians were also a bit more interested in Punk which seemed to make Heart sound a bit dated. There was a real feeling of "why am I standing here, music has moved on." They were a good act, all in all. I find Roger's Luke Skywalker duds pretty hilarious. This clip and performance are spectacular - wish there was more.
