Nancy Wilson demonstrates the intro to Crazy On You

Link to Shut Up And Play's tutorial: • how to play "Crazy On ...
Taken from her instructional video from 1996. She calls this Silver Wheels, which is also the title of the instrumental she plays on Bebe Le Strange. It is the same song, just different parts of it...if you check out live performances of her doing the intro to COY, you can see she intertwines them as she usually includes segments of the Bebe Le Strange version. She also sometimes likes to throw in a few bars of the song Hijinx from the Dog and Butterfly album, as well as a bit from Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. Here is a link to her discussing the inspiration for this song, Paul Simon's 'Angie'....or as she puts it, how she 'ripped him off' ; )

As a side note, Paul Simon's version of this song was a redo of Davey Graham's (and then John Renbourn's) Anji'.

Most of my fondest childhood memories include music. My parents primarily listened to traditional country music - thanks mom & dad! My older sisters introduced me to rock 'n roll - including Heart. Thank you! The 70's have proven to be very much a high water mark for rock, and Heart was right there. Thanks to Heart for the great memories!

I absolutely ADORE Nancy Wilson's guitar playing and arrangements! By FAR one of the greatest to EVER be! This is one of the most dizzying riffs I've ever heard in my life, and have tried for YEARS to learn how to half-assed attempt (unsuccessfully, I might add), and one that I'm sure haunts 6 stringers EVERYWHERE as well! ❤❤❤

Thank you Nancy for taking the time to show us how to play your songs. A wonderful, wonderful gift to so many beginner guitarists. I hope you realize it is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I no longer play my guitar. I had to give it up because my fingers weren’t suited for it, so I turned to the piano and am doing quite well. I can only hope one day Rick Davies from Supertramp can show me how to play some of his songs. I would be in absolute heaven for a tutorial from him like the one you have given here. Your fans are so lucky to have you. This tutorial keeps your music alive for generations.

What I love about the Wilson sisters and their music is that, they don't do easy material. Their timing, their tempos, chord changes, vocal work! Everything about them speaks extreme talent! Plus they are nice people. To me, they are the greatest female rock stars in the busjness! Nobody sings like Ann and Nancy is a hell of an act to follow on guitar !!

@@Matt561 I was too young to remember, honestly. I grew up in the 80s/90s and knew some Heart songs from my parents. I never heard anyone intimate that they weren't talented musicians just because of their gender. That's an utterly stupid way to think, so I guess we should all be glad that things have changed so much since then. Rather than further the "yes they CAN play guitar like that", as if the default assumption would be otherwise.
